Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Aan de Amstel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Mercure Hotel Amsterdam"

1st April 2012, Ahmedabad, India

This hotel is a good value for money. Its at walking distance from the biggest convention centre in Amsterdam and therefore very convenient if you are attending a conference. The rooms are neat and well planned. Free wi-fi is additional bonus. The resturent has good choice of menu and drinks. Overall a good experience.

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Aan de Amstel: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Mercure Feb 2012"

7th February 2012, Brussels, Belgium

Very bad elevator management. Very often waiting times of more than 15 minutes! The price of the breakfast is much too high.No swimming poolPositive: not far away from the RAI exhibition hall.General Accor standards, is not a (bad surprise)

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Aan de Amstel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great hotel great service"

30th January 2012, aleese, london

I stay here quite a bit on business as its handy for me. Hotel amenities are great, sauna, gym, etc. Downside the food bar is limited and there isnt too much else nearby so 3 nights stay and you've eaten the menu. Plus side, staff are great and friendly, breakfast is usually very good (although can suffer at times when the coaches are in). Free wifi is perfect and its easy to get to airport from there.Always stay here for business, probably wouldnt stay for leisure as its a bit far out of town but tram stop just over the bridge and train station (over amstel) just 5 mins walk.

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Aan de Amstel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Mercure ann de Amstel"

26th September 2011, The Hague, The Netherlands

Very good hotel. Good service, nice rooms (the view is great if you are on a high floor) and good breakfast and restaurants.Location is very peripheric, it was perfect for our trip (zouk congress 1 Km from the hotel) but less attractive for other parts of Amsterdam.Only two negative points: waiting times at the reception can be long if you are unlucky and parking is a bit expensive given you are quite far from the center.

Management responseDear Guest,Thank you very much for your reply on Tripadvisor. It is always pleasant to hear that you liked our hotel. I am very sorry you had to wait at the reception, I can assure you that this is an exceptional incident. Please allow me to explain the parking costs. As we are an hotel just outside the city centre, we decided to ask less than half the price for a day parking in the city centre. In front of the hotel, there is public parking which is also payed parking. If you pay for our parking plus public transportion cards, it will be much cheaper than parking in the city centre and then you might need public transportation cards as well. The metro stops at 300 meter of the hotel and tram is at about 500 meter of the hotel. It is my hope you understand that the parking cost are not that high in comparison with other hotels.Thank you again for your very positive comments on Tripadvisor.Best regards,Willem Bleuland van OordtGeneral Manager

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Aan de Amstel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "weekend trip"

22nd September 2011

We have stayed twice in this hotel now and like the area. Nice local community with bars, restaurants and choice of shops. Super bakery there too and fab fish shop. Tram terminus is 10 mins walk from hotel and a tram is often there ready for the journey into the city centre. 2.60 euros. Good breakfast in the hotel if a bit overwhelmed on Sat/ Sundays with huge groups. Eating/drinking in bar is pricy. Go local instead. Local pizzeria is friendly but not the tastiest option. In the city try eating in one of the Chinatown restaurants which are very popular but super food. We ate in New King and it was great. Good large bed in room and smart bathroom with good toiletries. We plan to revisit hotel next year.

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Aan de Amstel: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Hot rooms"

1st September 2011, Chiang Mai, Thailand

Room was small and extremely hot. The Airco was not effective. When I asked for reparation, the reception promised to check (and they probably did), but there was no feedback and the problem was not solved.

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Aan de Amstel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Stay was good"

30th July 2011, Armidale

The hotel was clean and had all the standard amentities. Room was clean and well appointed with good bedding, bathroom, has good sized work desk free internet and a comfy chair with foot rest. The hotel is ideal for driving, as we stayed over weekend had free parking in the street. Can easily walk to tram stop about 5min, tram 25 straight to Dam square took 15mins. Would stay again.

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Aan de Amstel: 3.0 out of 5 stars "business trip 3 day stay"

19th July 2011, Milton Keynes

clean and good sized rooms, hotel staff friendly. fridge was broken on arrival and second day fuse went and we were left without lights and air con as well. they did need two prompts to come and sort it out but the manager came in person and was friendly.they had forgotten to change our towels and had to request more - which they also did pretty quickly.

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Aan de Amstel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good hotel near RAI"

4th July 2011, Copenhagen

A very good business hotel within walking distance of a Metro station. If weather permits also within walking distance of RAI (20 minuttes).Very good breakfast buffet with excellent coffee choices.Nice modern rooms but ventilation/air conditioning could be better.

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Aan de Amstel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Nice comfortable stay"

10th June 2011

It was a nice comfortable stay (over the weekend). The Hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. Good food. It is a bit pricey for the location as it is about 5km away from Cenraal Station. The nearest metro is 15 mins walk from the hotel (Metro station: Over Amstel Metro: line M -51 for Centraal and back ....appx. journey time 17 min - each way on metro...last metro at 00:18 from Centraal). But ignore that, and you have a good deal in nice clean room and good bed. Fair value for money.

Management responseDear Guest,Thank you for your positive comments on Tripadvisor. It is always pleasant to hear positive feedback. We are happy you have noticed the price difference with the other city centre hotels. Despite the location, we are very accesible to the city centre. Aside from the public transport, we offer a lot of methods to go to the city centre. As for example, we rent out bikes and scooters.Thank you again for your feedback. It is our hope we can welcome you again in our hotel.Kind regards,Willem Bleuland van OordtGeneral ManagerMercure amsterdam aan de Amstel & Mercure Amsterdam Arthur Frommer

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Aan de Amstel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Easy access to the city"

7th June 2011, LONDON

The hotel is about 10 mins from the closest metro stop and about 20 mins ride to the central station. The hotel is easy to access by car and has a large car park, though you have to pay €20 per night extra. the rooms were large and well set out great if you just want a relaxed weekend away but plan to explore the city too.
