We have stayed at this hotel numerous times in the past and have always enjoyed the location, accomodations and the entire staff. We were even more pleased this visit because our room, which was a 2 story duplex unit, had been totally renovated. This hotel is located on the French side, situated right on the beautiful lagoon and close to Marigot and only a few minutes form Philipsburg. I totally recomend this hotel!
Good, location, great rooms (large, modern & uber clean) only let down by the Pool (may be undergoing renovation) and the least 4* sun loungers in the world, half were mesh and broken and the other half cheap rigid plastic that were the ultimate in uncomfortable. For a holiday orientated hotel that should do better. €15 per person to use the Hot Tub also takes the edge off your vacation. Breakfast was fine, bar and restaurant somewhat over priced but good quality. Staff were friendly and efficient. Overall a very good hotel that just needs to work to make a lazy day a pleasure vs an ordeal.
Dear Sir, Thank you very much for taking the time commenting on your stay at the Hotel Mercure Saint-Martin Marina & Spa. It is in part such guests contributions that helps us improve and always get better. As for the swimming pool, let us reassure you: it was undergoing renovation. The loungers on our private beach are soon going to be rully replaced (as it has already been last year), but please note that this type of material tend to deteriote pretty fast under the tropical weather (!). We are looking forward to welcoming you again in the future. Kindest Regards, The Mercure Team.
I got very impressed with the hotel and all the facilities as soon as we arrived. Every clean, beautiful gardens, ... The team is very helpful and friendly. We informed that our room wasn't with a good internet connection and they said that the hotel was working to improve. Few days later and we saw technicians working and it was fixed. In my view, the food was a bit expensive, but almost everything in the island is expensive.
We stayed here a couple of nights around New Years as part of our larger tour of the Caribbean. The location is distant from shops and restaurants, which is a clear setback as we prefer to walk around. Yet the resort itself is very nice, rooms are very clean and European, the beach is wonderful with plenty of hammocks between palm trees and a quite pictoresque bay area. There is a great bar and restaurant just across the streat on the windy side which served fantastic food and made our stay great. The on premise restaurant and bar are ok, yet not very special compared to what the island has to offer.
I had been here before - a year ago - and was therefore surprised to be greeted by name by several staff after so many months. The hotel has maintained its high standard of friendliness, attention and service. My room was in the new block, and very tastefully decorated. I love the use of the fabrics and the artwork. There is new artwork outdoors too - giving a very special feel to this hotel. The chef was still there and lived up to the expectations he helped create a year ago - providing colourful tasty, well-presented dishes using local produce. The availability of a car hire service at the hotel is very practical - combined with the hotel arranging for the airport pick-up and drop-off. Everyone made this a second enjoyable stay at this hotel. Maybe carnival in St Martin will become an annual tradition for me......
Construction, with hammer drills, started at 8am. I was placed in a room by the busy road even though the hotel was mostly empty. Then I was called at 10 minutes past check out, because the request for extension had not been communicated. The room was very clean, and was updated. Still, not happy with my choice.
Dear Sir, Our hotel is currently going under its last phase of renovation, which soon will be over. Most of our clientele is kept away from any kind of disturbance, so we are deeply sorry if you had to go through some inconvenience. Please note that late check out can be accorded on demand, depending on our occupation rate. Kindest Regards, The Mercure Team
The hotel has a nice beach and an excellent breakfast. We stayed in the hotel rooms that are not renovated. The rooms were OK: clean and with very good beds. Dinner was average to poor: quality if the food as well as the service: the glass of water we asked for twice with a bottle of wine we never got. The location of the beach is very nice. The location in the evening is less as the road in front of the hotel is quite desolated and didn't feel save to walk there.
Dear Jacques, We thank you for taking the time sharing your experience at the Mercure Saint-Martin & Marina. We are glad to read that you enjoyed our hotel beach as well as the breakfast by the lagoon. Nevertheless, you not being fully satisfied by the service at our restaurant is for us a disappointment, as reviews on this matter are usually always great. We hope that your next stay with us will fully meet your expectations. Kindest regards, The Mercure Team
We spent 5 days at the Mercure on the french-speaking side of St. Martin/Sint Maarten. Situated on the bay side overlooking a beautiful bay, we were perfectly located to explore nearby Margot and the beaches. The hotel has modern rooms with high ceilings and a balcony. Ours faced the water and the setting sun. The chamber maids did an excellent job; our room was always spotless. The restaurant did suffer a manpower shortage on our first night, which was compounded by a large group of unexpected guests due to a cancelled flight. The owner himself pitched in and offered complimentary cognac for our delayed service. We were very pleased with the hotel.
Dear Travelese, Thank you very much for taking the time sharing your experience at the Hotel Mercure Saint-Martin & Marina. We are happy to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you recommand our hotel. We are looking forward to welcoming you again in the future. Kindest regards, The Mercure Team
Located at the inner lagoon of St. Martin you have all amenities a water sports fan can dream of. Jet ski, wakeboard, etc all available on the hotel's beach. The lagoon is not very good for swimming as in the allowed part for swimmers the water depth is between 50 and 60cms only and the ground is covered with seagrass. The rest of the beach and marina is reserved for water sports. The hotel itself is to the biggest extent freshly renovated and the renovated rooms are gorgeous! Reception and restaurant staff as well as cleaning personnel were always friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and if you search for a nicer swimming spot, just cross the street and you'll find a beautiful sea beach and some nice dining options as we'll.
