"Leisure break"
13th December 2012, Mainzman, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Excellant breakfast. Staff accomodated my requests for specific check in. Parking facilities are also very good with directaccess from lifts. The hotel is very convenient for walks into the old town and also for alonside the Rhine
"Pleasant stay"

The hotel is OK. I did not really use any service other than breakfast, which was a decent buffet. Location is fine, 10 minutes walk from the historical center. A bit far from the train station, but much closer to the Romanischer theater station, where trains to the airport and Frankfurt stop as well.Free wifi only in the lobby.

Small, but good conditionized rooms, permanent bar, continental breakfasts - all was good. The location is excellent - 4 minutes by foot from the nearest DBahn station. The place is far from the city center (15 minutes by foot), but it is silent and cozy
"Overcharged Wifi"
1st July 2012, Sydney, Australia
Excellent location, close to everything for the tourist.A no frills hotel but that's what I wanted. Staff very responsive and cooperative.A minus for Ibis is that the Wifi charge in the rooms is exorbitant, probably cheaper for Ibis to provide than TV which I don't watch. That's why I prefer Best Western when there is a choice.
"Nice hotel"

Nice, reasonably priced hotel with good location convenient to Roman Theatre train station, the Rhine and town in general. Bit noisy depending on where your room is (and what night).
"Best value of all Ibis hotels"
19th September 2011, Miami
location at end of old street, leading immediately into heart of old city. One block from Rhine.Breakfast better than many Mercures.Have stayed here with students, sons, and alone. Always happy, but sad to leave.Staff always very accommodating.

It is overall a reasonable Hotel in a good location with competent staff and service you expect from the chain. Three points were a bit on the negative side, though. You have to pay for the internet connection, although the Hotel has a monthly subscription to Broadband services. Basically they earn money from each guest to pay for their monthly charges. The noise insulation of the rooms could be better. General noise from the hallway and neighbouring rooms comes through infiltered and can be quite disturbing when all you want is sleep. This Ibis Hotel is the first I encountered so far that provides a single bed (90 cm wide) to single travellers, which is not informed of during booking. Usually the rooms are equipped with a small queen size bed (140 cm wide)
"Good Clean Room at very reasonable price."

My wife and I have now stayed at the Ibis hotel in Mainz on a least 10 occassions over the last 5 years. If you book in advance you can get some very good deals at around €45/room per night. It has compact but very well designed rooms with an efficient air conditioning/heating system and a good shower. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful with a light touch. The rooms at the back of the hotel away from the main road are quieter once the night revellers have gone home!Very central and historic location being near the Old Town and with the lovely park just a few munites away and the Rhein across the road. Plenty of places for that early morning walk or jog!Breakfast at €10 is pretty good value especially if you're hungry - but being leisurely pensioners we prefer to go to the local cafes - of which there are many - for a cheaper breakfast in more interesting surroundings.I can thoroughly recommend this hotel.
"super!!!"
10th February 2011, geneva,il
Loved the location, purchased the b'fast was worth every penny!!!Loved the use of computer in lobby and helpfullness of staff. The phone call rates were too high, however. We are from the us and couldn't use our cell phones due to high roaming charges but i would reconsider using phone in hotel room and just emailing everyone back home...
