ibis Mainz City: 5.0 out of 5 stars "An Ibis is an Ibis is an Ibis....."

8th September 2013, GBM4IBM300, Muscat, Oman

Fairly standard Ibis. Small rooms with everything you need and no frills. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast choice adequate. Staff and polite and friendly and it is only a short walk to the town centre.I stay there because it is a 30 minute walk from IBM otherwise I would be elsewhere.

ibis Mainz City: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good hotel"

22nd July 2013, sabbiedoro, Italia

Good Hotel, room was clean, any noise, very nice position in the town center, at the right price.I had my dinner outside the hotel, so no idea about the restaurant, but breakfast was good.Garage is not included in the price and expensive as usual. One of the best hotel for business in this area.

ibis Mainz City: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Leisure break"

13th December 2012, Mainzman, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Excellant breakfast. Staff accomodated my requests for specific check in. Parking facilities are also very good with directaccess from lifts. The hotel is very convenient for walks into the old town and also for alonside the Rhine

ibis Mainz City: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Pleasant stay"

1st September 2012, jignes, Barcelona, Spain

The hotel is OK. I did not really use any service other than breakfast, which was a decent buffet. Location is fine, 10 minutes walk from the historical center. A bit far from the train station, but much closer to the Romanischer theater station, where trains to the airport and Frankfurt stop as well.Free wifi only in the lobby.

ibis Mainz City: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Mainz"

28th August 2012, masterey, Moscow, Russia

Small, but good conditionized rooms, permanent bar, continental breakfasts - all was good. The location is excellent - 4 minutes by foot from the nearest DBahn station. The place is far from the city center (15 minutes by foot), but it is silent and cozy

ibis Mainz City: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Overcharged Wifi"

1st July 2012, Sydney, Australia

Excellent location, close to everything for the tourist.A no frills hotel but that's what I wanted. Staff very responsive and cooperative.A minus for Ibis is that the Wifi charge in the rooms is exorbitant, probably cheaper for Ibis to provide than TV which I don't watch. That's why I prefer Best Western when there is a choice.

ibis Mainz City: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Nice hotel"

1st June 2012

Nice, reasonably priced hotel with good location convenient to Roman Theatre train station, the Rhine and town in general. Bit noisy depending on where your room is (and what night).

ibis Mainz City: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Best value of all Ibis hotels"

19th September 2011, Miami

location at end of old street, leading immediately into heart of old city. One block from Rhine.Breakfast better than many Mercures.Have stayed here with students, sons, and alone. Always happy, but sad to leave.Staff always very accommodating.

ibis Mainz City: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Mainz"

12th September 2011, Hong Kong

It is overall a reasonable Hotel in a good location with competent staff and service you expect from the chain. Three points were a bit on the negative side, though. You have to pay for the internet connection, although the Hotel has a monthly subscription to Broadband services. Basically they earn money from each guest to pay for their monthly charges. The noise insulation of the rooms could be better. General noise from the hallway and neighbouring rooms comes through infiltered and can be quite disturbing when all you want is sleep. This Ibis Hotel is the first I encountered so far that provides a single bed (90 cm wide) to single travellers, which is not informed of during booking. Usually the rooms are equipped with a small queen size bed (140 cm wide)

ibis Mainz City: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good Clean Room at very reasonable price."

15th June 2011, London

My wife and I have now stayed at the Ibis hotel in Mainz on a least 10 occassions over the last 5 years. If you book in advance you can get some very good deals at around €45/room per night. It has compact but very well designed rooms with an efficient air conditioning/heating system and a good shower. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful with a light touch. The rooms at the back of the hotel away from the main road are quieter once the night revellers have gone home!Very central and historic location being near the Old Town and with the lovely park just a few munites away and the Rhein across the road. Plenty of places for that early morning walk or jog!Breakfast at €10 is pretty good value especially if you're hungry - but being leisurely pensioners we prefer to go to the local cafes - of which there are many - for a cheaper breakfast in more interesting surroundings.I can thoroughly recommend this hotel.
