"5 star Affordable Hotel in Prime location"
5th March 2013, UFITA-0, York, United Kingdom
The Staff were all very friendly and helpful. On the one occasion I had to wait for less than a minute, the member of staff concerned was very apologetic. The food was of a very high standard, being able to talk to the chief at breakfast who was very pleasant and kind. For the Later Day Saints who like me do not drink Coffee or Black Tea, this hotel is Excellent as they have a range of other teas that we can drink both in the restaurant but also in the rooms and they even replenish them every day! This hotel is ideally situated for the NIA and shopping, this is a short taxi ride from the station or a 10 to 20 minute walk.View management response »

Fantastic for the indoor areana, its just around the corner with a good selection of bars and restaurants along the canal. The hotel was as expected, and is used a lot by business people so it was very quiet during the night.View management response »

We have stayed at the Novotel several times now and it is great value when you can get a weekend deal. It is within walking distance of the shops (Bullring 25 mins), canal (5 minutes) and the cinema (5 mins). W have sometimes had the odd issue with the room (shower or heating not working properly) and the hotel have been quick to move us rooms without question. It can be a little noisy on teh lower floors if there is a function in the hotel. A compulsory visit is to the Handmade Burger Co. next to the canal.View management response »

"Hotel Fire- poor show by managment and staff."
8th February 2013, Seasoned_13, Edinburgh, United Kingdom
Unfortunately my second night's sleep was interrupted by a fire in a room on the upper floors. All hotel guests spent between 3.00am and 4.00am outside the hotel in sub zero temperatures. No hotel management representative or staff made the effort to talk to guests. Some guests were without adequate clothing. In the morning no offer of compensation or rate reduction was offered. A poor dhow by the night manager and staff. Guests were left outside with no explanation. Given the wind and snow and the state of undress of may of the guests I would have expected a little more attention from the staff who were warm and dry in the lobby.I understand the need for evacuation but the staff should have been offering hot drinks and blankets at least or even speaking to guests would have been a start.-View management response »
Management responseThank you for your comments. I can assure you the matter of our communication to our guests during this evacuation, is being reviewed. Our primary concern during an event such as this is to ensure that all of our guests leave the building safely, which I am delighted to report, that they did. Feel free to call me on 01216432000 or email me on firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss this further, if you so wish. Kind regards, Richard Marsh, General Manager
"friendly, helpful staff and a good location"
5th February 2013, Rachel F, London, England, United Kingdom
I was really impressed by the staff in this hotel, they offered a great welcome and were very helpful throughout my whole stay. A short taxi ride from New Street Station and round the corner from Brindley Place where there are some great restaurants, this hotel is in a really great location. I didn't realize when I booked that there are gym and pool facilities too!View management response »
Management responseDelighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Novotel Birmingham Centre and making particular reference to the team and the hospitality they provide, is very pleasing! Just to clarify we have a gym and sauna, plus steam room facility, with no pool, here at the hotel. We look forward to your next visit. Kind regards, Richard Marsh, General Manager.

The staff were well helpful and attentive. The location of the hotel is very good as it was set amongst loads of pubs and restaurants and within walking distance of Birmingham centre where the shops are.View management response »
