"Dancing on Ice"
3rd May 2012
We chose this hotel because of its close proximity to the NIA. The location was perfect with many bars and restaurants on the doorstep in addition to the Hotel's restaurant. The roo ms were very comfortable and spotless. We only ate breakfast at the hotel which was excellent with a choice of cooked or cold buffet of anything you could want. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and will definitely be using it the next time we visit Birmingham. The staff were delightful and nothing was too much trouble.

"a nite in brum"
27th April 2012, stanstallard, South Shields, United Kingdom
this hotel is staffed by helpful and knowledgable people, had a really good stay, even if it was just one night, just one gripe, parking fee of £14 is far too high !!

"Nearly so good"
15th April 2012, iderren, Fareham, United Kingdom
Stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed the hotel, service was excellent from all staff and food quality at breakfast and dinner was lovely. Only the room let the hotel down, we upgraded to a executive room. The room was spacious enough but it lacked places to hang coats and there were only 6 hangers on a very small rail. The control of the heating is poor only a thermostat, no fan speed no cooling, this meant the room was 'stuffy' so we had to have the window open all the time but this was quite noisy especially at night.

"Twice and no more..."
29th March 2012, Koln
It was the second time I stayed at this hotel. First time the experience was not so negative, but this time it seems to me that overall quality got worse. I paid for a business package in order to have "free" "high speed" internet connection. The internet connection was extremely slow; I complaint about it but no action was taken. It took to me more than one hour to connect the first time (due to a problem with the cable). People making up the room offer realy a poor service (I do not need towels to be changed everyday, and therefore I put them in the rack, but at least I'm expecting to find the towels ordered when I return to the room in the evening). Even amenities were not located in their place, everithing in the barhroom was a mess when I returned (the same mess I left in the morning). Not really the expected service for a 4* hotel.

"Novotel Birmingham"
19th March 2012, Glasgow, United Kingdom
Hotel good for location on Broad Street with parking beneath the hotel. Only complaint is the breakfast which at £13.95 is a bit steep and the meal i had late when i checked in wasnt great. Prawns that had just been defrosted in a microwave, were warm which is rubbish in a prawn cocktail and a bland ghoulash. Great hotel, would stay again but wouldnt eat in it.

"Novatel in Brum"
15th February 2012, Cambridge, United Kingdom
Good visit, friendly staff, good location. Handy parking underneath the hotel. Would stay again - if we could get the rate we had in Feb! Beds firm, I liked my wife didn't. Restaurant was OK - nothing to write a review about. The breakfast was very good.

"Typical Novotel"
12th February 2012, Beverley
Good city centre location; the features were so like the French Novotels where we have often stayed that there was a genuine temptation to start speaking French. Even the car park had Novotel's typical tight turns and pillars. Overall the hotel was very good and our only complaint was that the children's play area was located adjacent to the door outside which there was frequent smoking so that tobacco fumes were quite noticeable in the play area.

"Disappointing!"
6th February 2012, Bristol, United Kingdom
Dirty carpets, room felt like an Ibis at best, no benefits for being Platinum card holder, night disturbed by revellers outside at 4 am, expensive WiFi as using French Orange network, rather than the UK one that I have free pass for. Staff pleasant but but seemed unable to do anything - very practised at saying "sorry sir, it's head office policy". I'll not rush back!

"jan 2012"

Nice hotel. Efficient check-in. Good sized rooms.Only downside is the hotel seemingly required doormen after 11 pm on the weekend. Good for making you feel secure but bad for feeling at risk of going out!

Management responseThank you for your kind comments and compliments. I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Novotel Birmingham Centre and look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Please be assured that our Concierge are appointed at weekends to ensure that our customers have an enjoyable stay. Broad Street has recently been accredited with 'Purple Flag' status under the safer streets campaign, so there is really no need for concern over safety. Our Street Warden's provided by the local Business Improvement District are also on hand to provide all guests with reassurance and any guidance on the local area. Kind regards, Richard Marsh, General Manager.

"Great location for the NIA"
9th January 2012, visitorLeics, leicetershire
Check in efficient and helpful. Rooms good size. Separate loo to bathroom. Loo a bit smelly and sink in bathroom could have used some product down too. Had an early meal in the bar area perfectly adequate and good value for money service excellent efficient and friendly. Hotel has parking on site which is a bonus for Birmingham and at thirteen pounds for twenty four hours reasonably priced. If I was going to the NIA again I would consider the hotel especially as I obtained a great rate for two rooms by booking on the internet. If I had more cash available i would make a return visit to the Hyatt a few minutes away.
