ibis Southampton Centre - hotel reviews in Southampton

Hotel code: 1039 customer reviews in partnership with TripAdvisor

ibis Southampton Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Pity about the beds & watch the rates"

9th September 2013

The hotel and area are good and convenient for Southampton City and exploring the New Forest. We had a problem with the TV but the staff did what they could and swapped rooms when it could not be fixed immediately. IBIS advertise the quality of the beds, this would be true but the mattresses have covers that don't fit tightly and the sheets don't fit so wrinkle during the night.Watch the website rates, their 'free breakfast' is non cancellable and, although it matches the cancellable rate, is more than the standard non cancel rate.

ibis Southampton Centre: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Would not recommend"

5th September 2013, Sandra R

Reception staff also acted as waiters. We paid for dinner and breakfast and we have never experienced such bad food. The two meals we ordered for dinner were not available, we then chose 1 chicken and 1 beef burger and the meat was over cooked, dry and disgusting. I could not get my fork through the chicken and left it uneaten. I complained and was not charged for that meal.Breakfast was most uninteresting. The dinning area was full, staff were very busy as there were 4 cruise ships in that morning. We had to wait for more milk to be put out which led to further chaos. Surely Accor can manage to have decent food available for their guests.

ibis Southampton Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great value and good location"

24th August 2013, SeedyG, Kent

I would recommend this hotel for convenience and price. Being just beside a retail park and only a couple of hundred metres away from the IOW ferry terminal it is perfect for a night or two. The coastal road is a little noisy most of the time and so it is probably necessary to keep the windows closed and sleep with the Aircon on at night.Only slight problem I experienced was finding out that car parking costs £5 per night. This was not made clear in the on-line booking process and is a ridiculous and pointless penalty given that the huge retail park alongside is free.

ibis Southampton Centre: 2.0 out of 5 stars "the barnetts wedding anniversary weekend"

17th August 2013, barnett926, High Wycombe, United Kingdom

we were disappointed with our room in that there was not enough space around the bed and no comfortable chairs. the good side was that the shower was ideal for our use. being that I have restricted movement.the site being near a 24 hour Mcdonalds was disastorous as the constant traffic and people shouting nearly all night on the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Monday night was bliss. We would not recommend this hotel for more than 1 or 1 night stays, 4 nights for us was too long. We were celebrating our 52nd wedding anniversary and had plans to meet with friends over the weekend. The food and service of your staff was excellent.
