Location excellent for shops, dining and docks.The hotel was bright and welcoming with friendly staff.The bedroom was small but perfectly adequate - just one gripe - the bath towels were very thin, and hand towels were not provided.Overall very good value for money.

"Overnight stay"

Main entrance and reception very good first impresion on arival and good service from staff but room in need of a make over bathroom in poor condition.No instruction to work heating left us with a cold room overnight.Central for shops and theatre in easy walking distance.Bed was very comfatable and new.

"Short visit"

The hotel is fine, well located near the train station and within easy access to buses and shops. The staff are nice and very friendly. It is clean, however it has very thin walls and noise can be a problem.

"Overnight in Southampton"

Stayed at the Ibis last sunday very satisfactory Hotel in a good location 10 minutes walk from Town Centre, Beds were excellent and cleanliness of Hotel very good. A very enjoyable experience. Didn't eat in Hotel as only snack menu available but lots of options in Southampton.

"Disappointing"

I was disappointed with the quality of the room. The pull along blind was broken so the window allowed light in all night. There was no room to move or change, space was minimal. Bathroom was basic and no toiletries provided. The room needed a coat of paint. Other than the bed there was no room for us to sit by the time our bags were in the room.

Hotel is in the right area for cross-channel ferry.I booked well in advance and got the remarkable rate of £26 for the room. Secure car parking is available.The roomwas well appointed and spotless. Reception and bar staff were friendly and helpful.

"Hotel a bit disappointing but great location"

Room had a moldy smell and elevator was broken, which made being on the 3rd floor a problem. Nearby there is a terrific mall, with an excellent food court. Also very close to cruise ship terminal and train station - very convenient.

Service was good but room had black mould around window and this area felt damp to the touch. When mentioned at reception staff did not seem that concerned. Lift was undergoing refurbishment and was out of order for a number of weeks but no advance notice of the situation was given
