"An okay Hotel"

The Hotel was clean and comfortable but as on previous visits I do not like the bed linen, it was clean but looked grubby and and of poor rough quality, same for the towels. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for town, theatre and shops.

we had a strange noise next to our room, don't know if it was the the lift motor, but it was there all the time, and was quite noisy at night.

"Great stopover hotel"

The staff at reception was very friendly; We were very satisfied with the secure on-site parking and hotel location - close to the cruise line terminal. The restaurant serves a good english breakfast. But, for lunch or evening meal it is best to take the short walk into town and try one of the local pubs.

"2 nights stay at IBIS Southampton"

On arrival we were greeted at reception and were efficiently and quickly signed in and given our room keys.The buffet breakfast was excellent. There was a good choice of cereals, fruit juice and fresh fruit. There was also a selection for a full cooked English breakfast. The staff were all helpful and pleasant at all times.We have always found IBIS to be good value.

"IMPROVED FROM PREVIOUS VISITS"

Have stayed here on a number of occasions, either when visiting Southampton or en-route to another holiday. The main advantage of the hotel is its location and ease of parking. It is an easy few minutes walk right into the main shopping area of Southampton (almost next door to Ikea), so once parked up, it is not necessary to move car again until departing (a reasonable £5 for 24 hour parking). The hotel has had some work done since our last visit, and the reception and restaurant now has a very clean and modern appearance (didn't eat on this occasion, but have in past, and they do a very good breakfast). Reception staff pleasant and helpful. Our room appeared to have had a lick of paint and was as comfortable as you would expect from a budget hotel, if a little on the small side. The one thing that lets it down, is the carpet in the rooms, which I can't say wasn't clean, but due to it's colour and type, never really appears so. Even on a Saturday night with the window open, we were not bothered by any undue noise and had a good night's sleep.

A much better value hotel compared with Premier. Location ideal for Rial Station, West Quay Shopping, and Cruise Terminal.An adequate breakfast could be obtained at a reasonable price.

"Good Hotel"

Stayed for 2 nights staff were very helpful and accepted a delivery and stored it while staying, rooms were clean and comfortable. location was ideal for the centre of Southampton and I would stay here again.

"City Centr Location"

Excellent City Centre location near to the West Quay Shopping Centre and The Mayflower Theatre.Our visit was arranged due to the threatened bad weather at the weekend.This did not materialise but we did not regret our decision to stay.All staff were helpful and friendly in both the Coffee Shop and reception.

"Our Opinion"

This hotel is in a very good location for the shops and theatre. Parking is at a very reasonable rate. It is very basic but clean and the staff very good. The only downside was that on a Friday/Saturday night the young people are at this hotel and go out clubing and come back at all hours of the night. However they did not disturb us. The breakfast is very good and plenty of it.

Hotel had all the services that we requried. rRooms basic but clean and comfortable. BEST buffet breakfast especially the sausages. Everything was hot. Only downside lift not working day we were there.

"A week's stay in Southampton"

The hotel was close to the railway stationand local bus.The hotel was also close to food shops and supermarket, and within walking distance of the old town and seafront. I could hear noise from the other guests in the hotel building on Saturday night, but the other days it was quieter. The hotel room was warm and the bed comfortable.

Hotel ideally situated for shops etc. and plenty of parking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable but the room was too hot. Breakfast was average but ran out of bacon and juice. I would stay again.

"Great choice for Southampton"

Great central location, near station and bus station and West Quay Shopping centre, Ikea etc.Staff very friendly and efficient. Good size room with Wifi access. Kettle and tea/coffee provided.Bar food available and breakfast at extra cost. Parking if required at extra cost.

"Fair hotel - room for improvement"

Room was clean and comfortable although lighting a little on the dim side if you need to work or read in your room.One of the towels was dirty (not very nice)Room was reasonably quiet although the life is noisy as it rumbles up and down - it also ends it journey with a sudden jolt at the end (be wary of this if you have a bad back).Breakfast OK if a little chaotic at times although would not personally pay full rate of £7.50 when there is a McDonalds nearby (unless it was going to be your last breakfast)Staff are helpful and friendly and reception and bar area clean. They show Sky football in the bar which is handy.
