Novotel Stevenage: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent Hotel"

5th March 2012, Barnsley

This is an excellent hotel - the service is fabulous. The staff are very polite and very friendly. The rooms are quiet and clean and the food is first class. It is a bit out of the town but it is close to the A1 although there is no noise as it is set back from the road. The carpark is spacious and if it is full the staff let you park on the yellow lines without fear of clamping (I wish the Ibis in Luton could adopt this same policy!) I wish there were more Novotels of this quality around the country - I stay in lots of hotels but this is one if the best I've found.

Novotel Stevenage: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Stop over"

8th February 2012, Leicester, United Kingdom

Had a great sleep, room was nice, good to have a separate toilet. Breakfast was nice with a great selection, they were filling up the empty containers quickly, as it was quite busy, as there was a fuction going on (which we heard nothing).Would stay there again if around the area

Novotel Stevenage: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Exceptional Service."

23rd January 2012, London, United Kingdom

I am an extremely regular guest at this hotel as divide my time between Central London and Stevenage offices. All the team, without exception, are extremely welcoming, professional, perceptive and clearly enjoy their working environment. An obvious credit to the manager, Eric-Enno Snel. From the warm welcome at check-in, the impeccable cleanliness and attention to detail in room preparation, to the quality of service and standard of catering in the restaurant.Keep up the good work!

Novotel Stevenage: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Tidy but tired"

20th October 2011, Stevenage

Staff are really friendly and hotel located in a good position right by A1(M). Hotel lobby areas looking tired - especially around lift and stairs but rooms ok. Housekeeping is a bit hit or miss, towels not replaced or hung up, and glasses etc not replaced. Room service was efficient and reasonably priced but biggest issue of all is very patchy mobile signal, so no 3G signal in room- had to resort to paying £10 a night for internet which is not good enough these days. I would stay again though but not worth rack rate price at all and breakfast at £13.95 - seriously????

Novotel Stevenage: 3.0 out of 5 stars "OK"

12th September 2011, Lancing, United Kingdom

No hot water at all, had breakfast for 'free' as compensation. Heard other guests complaining at checkout. Easy to find, right off A1 but not near anything. Bar expensive. Room was OK, but could have done with a freshen up - marks on wall etc

Novotel Stevenage: 4.0 out of 5 stars "A Pleasant Stay"

5th September 2011, Wisbech, Cambs

I stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting Stevenage. The hotel although a little way out of town is convenient if you have transport. I have used this hotel previously and find it welcoming, pleasant and consistently well run. The food and service are good and the rooms comfortable.I shall no doubt use it again.

Novotel Stevenage: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Family from Chester"

3rd September 2011, Chester, United Kingdom

I am a convert to Novotel, having stayed at their hotels in Barcelona and Edinburgh. The Stevenage hotel came up to expectations. It is clear it has had some refurbishment and perhaps was a little tired looking in places. Overall however it was excellent value for money. We got a great deal as Aclub members but even then I would have been happy to pay full price. For young families, it is very comfortable. Having breakfast included is very unusual these days. The food offered was good in terms of selection, well cooked and presented. The staff in the restaurant and in the hotel were friendly and very willing. My wife wanted vegetarian sausages and these were provided without any fuss whatsoever. On top of everything my 4 year old received Cars 2 free gifts for the car and he was chuffed to bits. We were travelling to see friends in Essex and stayed at this Stevenage hotel to break our journey. It worked out very well and we would definitely stay there again.

Novotel Stevenage: 3.0 out of 5 stars "COULD BE A WEEKEND ISSUE"

11th August 2011, Bradford

Having stayed in many excellent Novotels around the world, we were disappointed with this one. The public areas are physically good and the staff friendly and approachable. The breakfasts and ambiance in the restaurant and bar were most satisfactory. The bedroom was a little'tired' and in need of some refurbishment. Our 2-night weekend stay was marred by the catering for large wedding parties; with clients and their children behaving in ways which was inappropriate for the comfort of other guests. On Monday morning during breakfast and in the bar prior to departure, with business/corporate guests present; it was was far more pleasant and acceptable; just like all other hotels in the brand we have experienced. It could be booking at the weekend that is an issue and not Monday to Friday.

19th May 2011, RedCatSarah, Norwich, United Kingdom

The Hotel fitted the bill- good road access, clean, tidy and friendly cheerful staff. The car park was good and secure and the choice of food was ok- and as expected. This met my needs The bed was huge and comfortable, and the room had lots of space, and glad the window opened right upThe bathroom was clean and tidy- and there was a bath and a shower- a bonus after a long day

Novotel Stevenage: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Worth a shout!"

2nd April 2011, Aberdeen

Very easy to find from the main road and parking right at the door! Reception and lounge area very smart. Pity that corridor carpets and bedrooms do not quite match up - nothing seriously wrong but just looks like it needs spruced up a bit!

Novotel Stevenage: 4.0 out of 5 stars "A Christmas Visit"

29th December 2010, LONDON

It was a short distance from London, but staying at the hotel made the journey to and from our relative's home in Stevenage safer and more relaxing. When we wanted some respite from the family, we always had the hotel which was peaceful without being 'morgue-like'. Staff were attentive and where a small problem of cleanliness was pointed out (shelf above wardrobe dusty) it was dealt with promptly. Breakfast was good and staff & chef in restaurant helpful and responsive.
