Novotel La Rochelle Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Nice Hotel"

12th April 2012, Guernsey, United Kingdom

This hotel was nice in appearance, the staff were friendly, the service was good and there was plenty of secure onsite parking. There is a lovely park and river nearby were animals are kept which was nice for the children and the shops and restaraunts are about a ten minute walk. The rooms were clean but cramped for a family of four and the restaraunt was expensive.

Novotel La Rochelle Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good location, great parking, easy walk to town"

28th February 2012, Jersey

Good points... (a) nice location in the park close to Centre Ville (b) parking good (c) it's an easy walk to the restaurants, the port and the town d) helpful staff at reception, the bar and restaurant. Not so good points ... (a) the road running through the park to the town side of the hotel is quite busy and noisy during the night - if you prefer your bedroom window open when sleeping, than ask for a room that does not overlook the park (b) why do they consistently serve the cooked parts of the breakfast so cold - luke warm bacon/sausages/mushrooms, and stone cold scrambled egg? ... ask someone to heat up your helping...! (c) the rooms aren't very big, but nevertheless "OK". (d) finding the hotel is not easy, even with a satnav ... best to approach it from the seaside end of the park.

Novotel La Rochelle Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "La Rochelle Centre - one of our favourite Novotel locations"

18th July 2011, Jersey

A very pleasant hotel close to the picturesque medieval port area with cloisters and a lively shopping area of small boutique type shops.General standard good but some aspects looking a bit tired e.g around pool area which is a shame as could be significantly improved with minimum time and cost.Overall good value, friendly helpful staff and good to be able to leave the car and walk into nearby old town - which would otherwise be a nightmae to find parking.

Novotel La Rochelle Centre: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great Staff"

6th July 2011, Camberley

Apart from being a bit pricey, this hotel was perfect as a base. It takes 15 minutes pleasant walking to the old harbour. We chose to eat out.The staff couldn't have been more helpful and attentive.

Novotel La Rochelle Centre: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Novotel La Rochelle Centre 06-08 May 2011."

12th May 2011, Paris

I booked this hotel with little time beforehand, having enjoyed my stays in Novotel in Germany and Britain before.I arrived to find that I had appeared to have booked the last available room in the hotel. This was, in retrospect, a big mistake. I was on the fourth floor, which needed renovation on the floor area around the lift desperately. The hotel room itself had unserviced defective plumbing which included a completely blocked sink (I bought independently two bags of soda crystals, and used both completely, which, by the time of my departure on Sunday had had a very limited effect indeed), and a unsealable bathtub. The room in general was not particularly clean, and (perhaps assuming generously) the staffing level was probably neither of sufficient level, nor quality. As a result of the above, I refused to pay for the room.La Rochelle itself was alright, but the weather was very changeable (Atlantic maritime/English at its worst?), and the prices approached Parisian levels at times.Wrong person, wrong hotel, wrong weather, wrong time?I just do not know.
