"Unhappy"

A few mishaps occured. Somehow my reservation was cancelled after I had already checked in; so then my electronic pass didn't funsction. The location next to the Gare left much to be desired. No lighting at all at night ! Not a single street lamp on the hotel's ramp accress between the station and the hotel reception was functioning. Dark and dangerous. Poorly maintained are outside the hotel's entrance was a gathering spot for youth drinking and smoking joints. This lent not just a sense of insecurity coming home in the evening; but was extemely loud as well. I'd never stay at this place again. A smaller Mom & Pop hotel inside the rampart's of the town would have been better...or even would be worth it to spend a little more for a nicer setting without the sense of insecurity and nuissance at night.
"Great start for a two week trip"

We used this hotel to start a two week trip for friends from the US. While next to the central train station, parking was very convenient and the walled city was just across the street. Very reasonable base for the first two nights in France. Service was energetic, polite and proficient. Even though the rooms were over the railroad tracks, we heard very little noise if we kept the windows closed.

My wife and I, both Americans, checked in not quite knowing what to expect. Yes the room was smaller than what we have grown to expect in the states but our night proved to be most enjoyable. The location of the hotel was the initial deciding factor. However anyone who is not familiar with driving in Avignon you are in for a surprise. We were very impressed with friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel.

good value, didn't have breakfast but it also looked good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Didn't realise you had to go into station for car parking so spent quite some time trying to find how to get to entrance.

Excellent position for visiting Avignon centre, carparking at reduced rate on local rail carpark, convenient but pretty full had to wait for a space.One side of hotel overlooks the rail station, good triple glazing against noise but my husband loves trains so spent much time at the window on arrival. Ideal spot.

The location is very good, very near to the railway station, bus station, and just in front of the Republic Gate of Avignon.The room is quiet, but the size is too small.Book in advance, you can get very good price.

The hotel located near the train station within in the walk distance and not far from the TGV bus station. We can walk to the center Staff are friendly..Breafast is perfect in weekend : fruit basket many pastries and nice coffee but on Monday the breafast looked less than the weekend ..The room is too small . The hotel staff are friendly and kindly to help.It 's a pleasure to stay in this hotel

This hotel is located directly adjacent to the train station (not the TGV station). The room and bathroom is a good size and the room is clean and tidy. Free wifi access is a bonus. The hotel is easily walking distance to the main attractions such as Palais du Papes
"IBIS at the center of Avignon"

The location of the hotel is excellent. You are in walking distance from Avignon center with all the restaurants af cafès as well as attractions. Furthermore you are "outside the walls" so it is easy to arrive and park at the hotels premises. Service was nice and friendly and the rooms were clean. One of the best beds I have slept in outside my home :-)

"My Experience Staying at the Avignon Ibis Hotel"

Although the hotel is well located and the staff very good, the rooms are smaller than other Ibis Hotels (i.e. Nuits St. Georges), and the bathrooms are very old & badly in need of renovation. Having stayed at the Ibis Hotel in Florence before this visit, and the Ibis Nuits St. Georges after, it was disappointing to stay in this hotel. Also, the fact that the Gypsies gather outside the front door in the morning before dispersing around the city, is a bit annoying upon leaving the hotel to site-see.

Good hotel at a fair price. quadruple-glazed windows made it quiet, quiet, quiet, even though we faced the street. Excellent buffet breakfast. Only disappointing thing is that while there is parking, as indicated, there is a charge to do so. It's a slightly reduced rate in a public lot adjacent to the hotel.

Unfortunately, I will remember the receptionist. Firstly, she insisted on our paying for breacfasts. We spent 15 min, arguing that we had payed for them. Then she offered the room with one bed and refused to give us at least another blanket. She gave us even an extra room, but ONLY AFTER I TRIED TO LIVE IN THE CORRIDOR AND CALL HER BOSS.
