"Valentine's Day Weekend for My Princess"

There are places to crash at the end of a busy day, and then there are hotels. Sofitel San Francisco Bay is unquestionably the latter. I have been in California five weeks thus far on business, and I have a place to crash. About the second week I realized just how much my princess does for me at home and flew her out from Minnesota for the Valentine’s Day weekend. I made reservations early at the Sofitel and realized that I was off by a day - that realization struck as I was driving to the airport to pick her up! I pulled into the hotel and spoke with the night manager about my dilemma. Not a problem. She extended my reservation in moments. I asked that some light fare be available in our room, and as I am unfamiliar with the room service menu, that she please select it for us. Upon returning to the clean, well lit, and well-appointed Junior Suite, an assortment of fine cheeses, breads and fruit awaited us. Above and beyond was the phrase that came to mind, even for a luxury hotel. The bed was beyond comfortable and view was amazing. The hotel guest rooms are undergoing remodeling. I was surprised to learn that our suite had not yet been remodeled as its condition surely did not warrant it. In all, it was a very, very satisfying stay. The pastries available in the lobby (and via room service) are amazingly fresh and flavorful. The common areas were uncommonly inviting and immaculate at all times. And the staff? I cannot thank them enough for helping to make this Valentine’s Day weekend a memorable one. I’m sure one can spend much more for a weekend like we had, but I seriously doubt that one would have had a better experience in doing so.

i have tried 5 hotels in san francisco including sofitel san francisco bay during my visit in san francisco.so far the bed is lack of comfort, need to get the number one bed w that adjustable mattress firmness. that all need to be improve. other than that its was a pleasant stay with beautiful view.

"NYE at the Sofitel"

The room itself was great and room service was wonderful. The only negative item was that the wall between the rooms was thin. I was awaken by the the gentleman in the room next door throwing up in the bathroom. I could also hear the couple having sex (multiple times). Aside from that, the room was wonderful.

"Horrible stay and dirty bathrooms!"

Our stay was loud, the room was not clean, and the room didn't match the pictures online. The hotel staff were friendly enough, but the parking was also not great, and a number of police were at our hotel at night which made me a bit skeptical.

"Perfect one night"

Room is not new but clean, well furnished and functional. I enjoyed staying here and will do again. Plenty close parking in the adjacent parking structure. Very quiet neighborhood. Easy access to US101 and always friendly faces greeting you.

The rooms was spacious and clean, and the staff was friendly and enjoyable. We even extended our stay by to days instead of going into the city.The food at the restaurant was outstanding, breakfast, lunch and dinner, even on the evenings when the restaurant was hosting multiple Christmas parties, we were served quickly.
