"Unfortunate Experience"

I was very dissatisfied with my stay and extremely dissappointed. Everytime I placed an order through room service I received an incorrect order, the food I recieved was at times not what was described on the menu, and worst of all, I received a bowl of molded fruit!! I cannot believe the experience I had. I was very excited to stay in this hotel and had booked an additional stay fro 5/3/12 to 5/6/12, but needles to say, after this experience I cancelled my future reservation. I hope you take steps to ensure such things do not happen to other customers. Thank you for your time. Alicia LaCour
"Great Hotel - quiet surroundings"

Short 3 day trip to visit friends in Silicon Valley. Quiet location in office park with nice outdoor gardens and lake. Loved it. Room was very clean and well furnished. Only lacking a safe and refrigerator.

We are very regular customers of the Sofitel hotels but like the Redwood Shores hotelin particular because of its excellent location and impeccable service. We recommend a brisk walk arround the lagoon to start off your day ; taste their freshly baked croissants for breakfast in the coffee shop and drive off to several nearby shopping centers or businesses all conveniently located just a few miles from your hotel. At night enjoy a relaxing cocktail at the bar before tasting some of the best French cuisine at their restaurant. When it comes to leaving again the airport is just a 15 minute ride away!

This hotel is consistently comfortable and classy. The staff couldn't be more friendly and considerable. A wonderful and comfortable and reliable experience even though the rooms could use some updating.

My wife and I attended a seminar at this hotel for 3 days last weekend.Everything was great.This is a awesome hotel given its pricing and location.Room service was very nice and timely.Bar atmosphere was lively and relaxing.All in all a really cool place.

I found the hotel to be very good in most respects and the staff were usually efficient and pleasant. I was dissapointed that the rates quoted to me as an A card holder were more expensive than my colleagues at DPR advised me they should be .paricularly as the average rate that I was advised seemed to have been inflated by a higher than expected weekday rate. Otherwise good. I will be more careful in future
"Did not meet expectations"

We had higher expectations for a Sofitel. The rooms were marginally clean, and but little things like dirt around the baseboards were there. Also, the bed did not have a flat sheet on it, which needed to be corrected when we arrived. The shower was average at best. Breakfast was good, but everything was overpriced even though the location and condition did not warrant.

This hotel is great, though the rooms are a bit dated. Terrific location, busy bar and good food at the restaurant. We were on a college road trip and the location allowed acess to Standford and Berkely.

This is like most Sofitel's is dated but OK. However, a small thing can have a big negative effect and the room was booked 4 nites for two travelers. The first night had no cream for coffee. The second night had one coffee and one cream, the third night only one cup and you cannot use the coffee maker without the specific cup, the fourth night, finally two cups and enough for 1 (not two cups of coffee each). This despite the fact that daily I requested supplies for two cups of coffee with cream for two people. It is a bad idea to screw up coffee in the morning, it makes travelers grouchy for the whole day. The noise from the hallway is very loud as there is no soundproofing.

Our favorite hotel when visiting San Francisco with a car. The French bakery is excellent. The rates on weekends and holidays are excellent because this is a business hotel. The hotel employees are very friendly.

If you have a car and don't mind the drive into San Francisco, this is a great Hotel for the price. You are not paying for parking and room taxes are half of that in the city so this can be a saving of approximately $50 per day. Hotel Staff are always helpful and attentive to your needs. The room we stayed in was great and very clean, as was the lobby area. Beds are super comfortable and so was the stay.

All around perfect experience at this Hotel; staff was outstanding, amenities and value spot-on. I would highly recommend the hotel (and continue to hope that Sofitel will one day open a property in downtown San Francisco).

Everything was great. I've stayed there many times and it's the best and most reasonably priced luxury hotel on the peninsula. The staff is excellent, the food is great, the rooms are always clean and luxurious and I would recommend it to anyone.

Our stay at Sofitel San Francisco Bay was a surprisingly delightful experience. The hotel staff was very courteous and professional at all times; their welcome and hospitality superb.The hotel itself is beautiful, very well appointed and managed. It's location was perfect for us - just a few miles from where we needed to be.We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to any of our family and friends.

Room was newly furnished, perfect service. I always rely on this hotel as a business and weekend spot for San Fran peninsula location. Fitness center is outstanding. Food prices are fair and I was given a complimentary drink coupon as an Accor member.

We enjoyed our trip and would recommend it, the hotel is really nice as you would expect from Sofitel. No American buffet but Al-Carte menu which was nice but might not be suitable for everyone and would mean limited choice, location is 30 mins drive from down town. If the room sizes were slightly bigger it would have been 5 star. I would like to especially thank Karen Gotico who really made a difference to our stay at breakfast, and Myriam Rene who also helped with the booking.

We stayed at the Sofitel on two occasions during January and had no major problems at all. The only fault we found was the hot water in the shower (one day it kept going cold and on one other day hot water was not available). In the end these are only minor issues but for a luxury hotel it should not happen.The food and service in the bar and restaurant was exceptional. The concierge was excellent and had many useful tips etc. The free shuttle to and from the airport was great since the airport is about 10 miles away.
