"Don't Do It!"

Worst hotel in Ghent! The hotel is situated centrally but directly outside the front door is a HUGE building site, causing noise, mud and a terrible eyesore. My suite was dull, dark and dingy and the service at the hotel (except the barman) was appalling - they even re-sold the room part way through the week to a third party. I am a platinum card holder and have never experienced such a bad hotel anywhere i the world.....do yourself a favour and go somewhere else!

"Modern Clean Friendly Hotel"

Excellent hotel in a beautiful city, one warning though do not use a sat nav to guide you in it sends you right through the centre of the main square in a pedestrianised zone and it is then impossible to access carpark due to a large hole in the middle of the square!

"A pleasent stay"

An ideal location but difficult to find if any festivals are taking place.The hotel should warn guests of any difficulties in reaching the hotel. I was on my mobile getting instructions to the hotel for nearly 20 minutes, a costly affair! Also had to argue with the staff re parking altough promised a space. Apart from our initial difficulties we had a pleasant stay.

"Good central location - parking a problem!"

Chose hotel as central to pedestrianised Gent. Main challenge was avoiding walls in underground car park (16 Euro per night) and getting out of the car when you had parked ( Ford Galaxy). Accomodation was good Novotel standard and breakfast acceptable but expensive at 20 Euro per head.

"AVERAGE OVERALL"

Hotel was clean. Limited staff, nobody was in bar to serve me at approx 6pm!Room had double bed & sofa bed to sleep 2 adults & 2 children - This made the room quite cramped.Although hotel situated in main square- very limited parking on hotel ground. Had to park quite a distance away and walk with children & overnight bags - Not an easy experience.Overall average Hotel - would only use again if others were fully booked.

Hotel ok, car parking limited so had to park a distance away, central location good, reception not really suited to handling mutliple guests at one time, room could do with being modernised, bathroom clean but 1980's, reception staff helpful and friendly, would stay again.

"Gent for a few days"

Be careful when going to Gent by car as the roads are being updated and our Nuvi sent us all over and we ended up looking up the map...took us two hours to the outskirts and an hour to get our act together to the Hotel Novotel beautifuly situated in the centre We had booked an apartment as it wasnot a lot more expensive, it was very spaciousand comfortable. We had visited the hotel before and always liked it although it was much improved, food also. The breakfast was always good..wll visit again

Great hotel close to all the sights of Gent.If youve never been to Gent and you like Brugge you will love this place.

Hotel in fantastic location. close to shops and sightseeing, rooms were adequately furnished. very clean and comfortable. the hotel itself was designed very well and looked very pretty. very good value for money as hotels are usually expensive in belguim. especially if you are a member of accor hotels.
