"Ibis Rouen Centre Rive Gauche"
9th May 2012, dnarod, Southampton, United Kingdom
Good situation 5 mins from town centre. Parking gate access was awkward. I missed it first time round causing a trip round the block. Reception was polite and efficient. Room was bright, well decorated with a comfy bed. Good selection of choices for the buffet breakfast. Only complaint is the requirement to pay 5 euros per night for parking on site. I also would have expected tea/coffee making facilities in the room as opposed to buying at the bar.
"Great location with cigaret smell"
11th April 2012, ArtfullyYours, Brussels, Belgium
PLUSThis hotel is located at a 15 minute walk to the historic center so location was very convenient. The area in which the hotel itself is located looked less safe than the center as almost no one was in the streets and buildings had metal grates at the street level and graffiti but nobody bothered us. We noticed that teachers from a visiting American school let a group of young teen students walk around from the hotel on their own.MINUSOur room and the 5th floor on which we were both smelled strongly of cigaret smoke and when we complained we were told by the hotel lady at the lobby that the hotel website does not show a choice of smoking/non-smoking. We did not insist on changing room believing that all other floors also smelled like smoke.
"Good place to stay"
7th October 2011, Pushkasmd
There is something comforting in standardization - an Ibis can be counted on to be clean, well organized and reasonably priced. The Rouen Ibis is no exception and it is close to the town center. Parking on the premises is convenient as well - you don't need a car once there.
"Fine for stopover in Rouen"
29th September 2011
Just a few minutes walk from the market place and its cafes and restaurants, this is a convenient hotel for a short stay. We found the room small but clean and functional. The staff were pleasant and the breakfast ample and relaxed. We entered the hotel's own car park from a busy one-way road. Space was limited but I see that their website lists 60 spaces so there must have been other parking elsehwere.Overall, a good overnight stop.
"A short term or business stopover"
11th August 2011, Cambridge
Basic, clean accommodation. We had an overnight stop and used the restaurant and the WIFI. The restaurant was pricey for a very limited menu and the WIFI was very unreliable. The area didn't look too inviting, so we stayed in the hotel and dint venture past the local supermarche!
"Just as I expected from Ibis"
4th August 2011, Maidenhead
We use this hotel and the nearby one in Avenue Aristide on our regular visits to France for an overnight stay. We know it will be clean and suits our purpose perfectly. The staff are friendly. When my French fails their English saves the day. We usually go into the town for breakfast and a walk before a long drive. Breakfast at the hotel is adequate. We also like to try the local restaurants for dinner so cannot comment on the restaurant further.
"Not up to ibis standard"
1st August 2011, cardiff
Every year our family travel to France and we always stay in an Ibis hotel. My advice would be don t stay at this hotel, the staff were not welcoming, the room was shabby and not clean. We ate our evening meal in the restaurant and was served raw chicken, upon looking around the restaurant I saw that several people were sending their food back. It would not deter us from using Ibis hotels in future because this is the sixth year we have stayed in an Ibis but we will not be returning to Ibis Rouen.
"Very nice hotel"
24th July 2011, Lorient
Beyond the normal IBIS pattern, there is a restaurant with good prices and a bathroom with Bath.
"Normally find Ibis Hotels better than this"
23rd July 2011, Belper, United Kingdom
Had pre-booked two rooms near each other. No problem with this but the bathrooms on this 3rd floor were very poor - baths badly discoloured and eroded. The person on reception was not as pleasant as I have normally experienced at Ibis hotels and appeared to have an attitude problem when I was not prepared to accept our bathroom. Eventually I did get a slightly better bathroom. Stayed 2 nights and had breakfast and dinner. Breakfasts were fine, the usual Ibis standard but as for dinner, the first night was OK but the second night the three of us had the barbecued chicken, which was burnt on the outside and undercooked inside - absolutely dreadful. We would not stay at this hotel again.
"Good stopover"
18th July 2011
Nice enough well priced hotel within a few minutes walk of the city centre with secure car parking. Good breakfast so what more do you need for the money. My only moan could possibly be that more and nicer pillows could have been provided but for the money paid that's about it
"short stay"
10th July 2011, Paris
Typical Ibis but room very small when child bed in place. Walking distance to main areas. OK for one night. ok for price paid. Parking extra but reasonable. Breakfast basic./could do better. Staff were helpful.
"good town centre hotel"
24th June 2011, Maidstone
Hotel very good and clean. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was excellent!!Shame no secure on site parking and was disappointed had to pay for car park in underground car park. A very good hotel in the middle of town.
"Ibis Tours Nord"
20th June 2011, Dromara, Co.Down
Staff really really excellent. Room as you would expect from an Ibis but very clean and well maintained. Small bar but great beer!! Although in an "industrial" area it is VERY well positioned for the airport. The restaurant looks good, although we didnt use it, but also at least 3 fast food outlets nearby. Easy access from the A10.The best bit about this hotel? The staff, truly excellent. Very helpful and very polite.
"Love Rouen"
15th June 2011, kent
Stayed with 2 teenage daughters and was given too rooms on the same floor. Rooms were great, air conditioned and clean. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice for 2 fussy girls and a hungry husband.
"Good location"
30th May 2011, Northampton, UK
The hotel was clean and comfortable, good service. Rooms were OK but a bit small. Free Wi-Fi.Might be difficult to find without a sat nav.Very conveniently located for the University and the old city (Joan of Arc memorial etc.)
"Overnight stay to break journey."
22nd April 2011, angouleme
We use this hotel 3-4 times a year to break our drive down from North England to SW France. It's easy to find in the car, good parking and you can back up to the wall to make it reasonably secure. Rather than use the hotel restaurant, we walk up to old Rouen - lots of great pubs/restaurants - or buy meat/bread/cheese at the old market and make your own supper.
