I was expecting this to be a bog standard chain hotel, and in a way it was (which was a good thing as it was clean and functional and comfortable). What was surprising was the fabulous view and pool area. Also a great location - 10 min walk into town. Only disappointing aspect was slightly rude and unhelpful staff.

Since my previous visit, this hotel has started charging €15 per day for parking. Previously this was free. There was no obvious mention of this on the Accor website. If it was mentioned it was not clearly obvious. On arrival, I was told that breakfast was being served only in the guest's room, and not in the restaurant. My immediate question was whether the restaurant was still opening for dinner. The receptionist answered "yes", but in fact I found that the restaurant had been severely scaled down for the low season. In fact, it was not a restaurant at all. They were simply serving bar snacks. There was a reasonable selection of cold food, but not much choice of hot dishes, because they were serving pre-packed frozen meals, and micro-waving them to order. This does actually result in a perfectly good meal, and you probably wouldn't notice the difference, but it means that it is impossible to change a vegetable that the customer detests. For example, some of the meals come with rice, pasta or green beans, all of which make me want to throw up. Since the meal is pre-packed and the hotel kitchen is closed, they cannot substitute baked potato, boiled potato or another vegetable, for any of the detested items. As a result, I had all my dinners elsewhere during my stay. I believe that Accor ought to display car parking charges prominently on their websites, because it might affect the customer's choice of hotel. There ought also to be a warning if any of the usually expected facilities are not available. There are plenty of restaurants in Cannes, but it is a bit of a walk into the centre from Montfleurry.
