I stay at accor frequently have a-club gold and this hotel was let down by its rude and inefficient staff. Breakfast was lousy and the rooms barely clean. A real shame for such a lovely old building in a great location. The theme seems to be that Accor in France is always a bad experience whereas outside france it is consistently good.

Foyer/reception,lounge,restaurant all very good as the lower floors have clearly been updated. The breakfast was very good ( although pricey if bought separately ). What lets The Mercure down is the condition of the bedrooms. Ours was very small for 105 euro's per night and the en suite bathroom was shabby and very outdated - the wardrobe was too narrow to accommodate the coat hangers and our hanging clothes were covered in white plaster dust from a damaged interior wall. The staff were all polite although nothing was done about our wardrobe after reporting it to reception.

This hotel was really very good overall. The location was particularly good being in the centre of Lille and within walking distance of the Eurostar. The rooms were good, the service was good and their restaurant recommendations were excellent. They told us that they would be renovating the hotel in June, so I would certainly return.

Very friendly hotel in middle of the center. Very good for a short citytrip. Some guests were too loud and we didn't get much sleep that night. Friendly personnel. Hotel needs an upgrade to hold the star-rating.

The only recommendation I can make is that it would be nice to have a fitness or a saune or a swimming pool as after dinner entertainment.

Central location but the matress was awfull. Complained about that and have a generous refund of £25. I was expected a great time at Mercure as I know this hotel in other country but the not sure that I will not go back to this one in Lille. 2 nights there and after taking my breakfast the 1st morning I gave up. Very disappointed.
