Poor maintenace

For the 3 nights stay we changed 3 rooms. First room was with very strong smell of the sigarets, second room was not maintained at all. Mold on bathroom walls, dirty sheets, broken lamps, broken toilet accessories, broken windows... The last room was assigned as a renovated one, but even here, the door was not closing properly and the phone was not working. I understand that Novotel is not 5 star hotel, but around all the Accor hotels I stayed at, Lisbon one is definitely the worst and not worth its money.

Nice Stay in the Renovated Room

We checked in for a long weekend stay to be prepared for a US Embassy visit on the Monday. On arrival, we got upgrade to a newly renovated room and we loved it. The colors and decor were great. It's my 3rd stay in this hotel and this was the best. The gym is decent. The pool area is nice although it would have been great to have F&B service out there. The restaurant staff is really nice. The video games in the lobby could function better. It's likely time to replace what they've got there.

Not so good stay

Hello, I can't complain overall about the hotel/staff itself, but our stay has not been an unforgettable one (this is the first time we face this experience in an Accor group hotel). To summarize quickly, we (my wife + 2 young kids) stayed in this hotel from April 8 to April 12. 1/ the first 2 nights have been lovely 2/ The night on April 10 has been quite complicated due to noisy & uninterrupted plumbing/pipes issue. As said, it has been a very trick situation and our night has been very complicated (basically we slept just a little). Shits happen. The next morning, we nicely went to the reception to ask to fix it (note we are not the ones used to complain) and we have been said that the maintenance team will fix it and they apologized for the inconvenience. All good, as said, shits happen. 2/ we came back the same day in the room around 11pm after having diner downtown thinking we will have a great night. So, the noise was even worst so I went to the reception. Results: - not sure the maintenance team went to try to fix it - I ask the reception staff on duty if I was able to talk to the "hotel manager/responsible staff" on site - I have been said she was the one managing the hotel at that time (which I personally doubt, I stay in Accor group hotel for ages - and I even deal with Accor with work purpose). - So I asked the person to check by herself how tricky it was in the room - what she did and 1000% agreed that it was not acceptable - but she concluded there was nothing she can do as the hotel was fully booked and left the room without a word - not nice at all. - Again, we have always been nice - we try to be good people for our karma. So, a second and even worst awful night. The next morning - check out - we came to the reception to explain (nicely) and we have been asked the hotel manager will get back to us for at least explanations (today is April 21, I don't expect anymore someone to get back to me). In addition, we finally ask the reception to request the maintenance team to intervene again at least for the next ones staying in that room. Conclusion, we spent maybe 500 EUR ish for 4 nights including 2 nightmare nights. We have always been nice and polite and in particular you were supposed to get back to us for explanation, what you did not. I really hope the next visitors staying in the room 223 on April 12 have slept properly. This email is also send to Accor Group Customer service for follow.
