Hotel Mercure Wien Zentrum: 4.0 out of 5 stars "City Break in Vienna"

21st April 2012, gjakins569, East Grinstead, United Kingdom

Hotel was clean, modern and conveniently placed for a city break in Vienna. The city centre is easily walkable but the tour bus trip was also interesting and good value. Vienna lived up to expectations in terms of its grandeur, spectacular buildings and collection of upmarket stores.

Hotel Mercure Wien Zentrum: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent hotel"

3rd March 2012, durmanov, Moscow

Excellent hotel with a modern ambient atmosphere; stylishly decorated rooms; comfortable beds and deluxe shower. Location is superb - 5 mintes leisurely walk to Stephansplatz - could not be better. Booked it on a special sales deal, so the price was better than value for money, I suppose, because it was in low season. The neighbourhood is very safe and queit.

Hotel Mercure Wien Zentrum: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great Location, very comfortable"

7th October 2011, Perth

The hotel is in a fantastic location and is very clean and comfortable - all you need. We didn't use any of the hotel services other than the room, so cannot comment on restaraunts or breakfast etc. The rooms are clean and comfortable and sufficiently quiet (we were on the 3rd floor I think?)

Hotel Mercure Wien Zentrum: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Good little hotel"

21st September 2011, MelbourneCess, Melbourne

This hotel is right in the middle of the action in Vienna. Restaurants and shops are right outside the doorstep. We booked a Privilege double room which has a nicer decor, I would recommend this instead of a standard room. The rooms are small however the location compensates for this. Staff at the front desk helped me book a concert in the evening and also transfer to the airport. The manager is friendly and welcoming. It's a 35 Euro trip via taxi to the airport. Remember to tip the driver as they provide a very good service.

Hotel Mercure Wien Zentrum: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great Location, Good Sleep"

20th July 2011, Loosdorf, Austria

The location is top! especially if you want to go out at Schwedensplatz. Very close to the cathedral... big choice on breakfast items... friendly staff! the hallways in the upper floors look a bit run down and you hear everything that comes from inside the room when you are standing in the hallway. but the rooms are perfectly clean! loved to have a nespresso coffee maker in the room. the bathroom is stylish and i love the shower where you can choose between a 'rain' shower (don't know how exactly that is called, but a big shower head where the water comes from the top) and one that you can move around!would definitely recommend that hotel!

Hotel Mercure Wien Zentrum: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great Location"

18th July 2011, Brussels

Great Location near many shops/restaurants and the center of Vienna/Landmarks for good price. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The Room was a little tight, but perfectly fine for business travel. Breakfast was great. Only negative was that it was very hot during my stay and with no A/C, so I had to leave window open. As the hotel is located near many restaurants, bars, etc, it was quite noisy until the early hours of the morning. I would stay here again.

Hotel Mercure Wien Zentrum: 4.0 out of 5 stars "great, little hotel in excellent location"

30th June 2011, steiny45, Luxembourg City

We stayed a long weekend, went to the opera and met family. This hotel has nice rooms and the breakfast is very good value for money. The first night we left the window on the 8th floor open and found the noise outside a bit disturbing, but with the window closed (and the air-conditioning working) it was very quiet. Like similar Accor hotels in London (St. Pancras) and in Brussels (near Grand'Place) this is now our regular place to stay when in town.

Hotel Mercure Wien Zentrum: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Pleasant stay."

18th June 2011, Canberra, Australia

A very easy stay at the Mercure. Great service but not invasive. Delightful staff. Only observation: I wish European hotels had tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. It is so hard being so far from home and exhausted and unable just to make a tea or coffee.

Hotel Mercure Wien Zentrum: 3.0 out of 5 stars "travel expensive to Wien"

12th June 2011, Düsseldorf

It seams to be very expensive to travel nowadays to Wien. Most of the hotels in the old town are not at a certain level, at least suggested by the number of their "stars". This hotel has a very good position but the level of prices, even by internet booking which should be cheeper as at the reception, are quite high (118 €/night & 30!!! € for breakfast, 22 € for parking). In my oppinion these prices are to high for an old hotel ( which was just upgrated to the level of 4 stars - by whom???) without own parking area.

Hotel Mercure Wien Zentrum: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Great location, but overpriced"

22nd April 2011, hamburg

Being assigned to a newly renovated room, I was looking forward to a new experience. First surprise, the room was hot, but nowhere was any temperature control to find. The air condition is only central controlled, that was not what I would expect from a four star hotel. The room was well appointed, but funny enough had some extra open drill holes (Did I interrupt the renovation?). Breakfast service was also more three than four star level. Bacon or sausages were nearly warm, but far from being hot. Service tried to be efficient, cups or plates, full or empty where taken away whenever you were leaving the table to get something else. Overall with some love to details and training of the staff it could be worth it’s money.

Hotel Mercure Wien Zentrum: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good hotel, good location, but buthroom is bed need repair"

18th February 2011, Moscow

Good hotel, good location, but buthroom is bed need repair. Shower was broken. No free internet access in the room. Room is clean. Breakfast is very good.

Hotel Mercure Wien Zentrum: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Center of Vienna"

23rd January 2011, Bruxelles

Not easy to get a room as it is always fully booked.Very good location.Easy connection to all major sites(by foot or public transport - Schwedenplatz). Walking distance to St. Stephens! - Wein & CO is close. Safe and secure area, as police is patrolling in the neighbourhood.Do not go for breakfast at 6:30 as the preparation of the food is (still) ongoing and not everything is (yet) ready. Be prepared that you have to sign the reception of breakfast at the time when you drink the coffee or you eat your scrumbled eggs. - Annoying!Laundry is delivered at 6:30 therefore the elevators are blocked for approx. 15 minutes.Highly recommend to ask for a taxi, which has a diver who does not smoke.Griechenbeisl is NOT greek at all. Awful music and not really recommended to have a chat at the dinner. Why (still) to recommend this hotel? - Because it is in the centre of Vienna

Hotel Mercure Wien Zentrum: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Xmas&NY"

14th January 2011, Ilya088, Moscow

We were very pleased to stay in this hotel. Location is greate. Breakfast was very rich and delicious. Staff is very polite and helpful. The only claim is to very thin windows. You can hear everything on the street like you are sleeping there, so we did not use alarm clock, because garbage truck replaced it. ;)
