"Nice stay in Union Square"

it was my 4th time in NYC and 1st in this hotel. location is great, i had a square view room and i could see Time square by the window. it was the 52th, also not far from central park. Service was excellent and recommendations that i followed for restaurants were greeat. they have a gym where you can have an indoor run while seeing Times square, amazing. when it is my 5th time in NYC, i will re-book again

"Poor customer service"

This hotel was close to Time Square and its overall presentation is very good. My issue was with the rooms. Our non-smoking room smelt of cigarette. As a non-smoking family travelling with a baby, we complained to the staff. We were told that there is nothing they could do. I asked if we could swap rooms. I was told that this was not possible. On check-out I complained again to the front desk staff. They did not care. I was not offered any apology or a discount. Completely dissatisfied with my experience at the Novotel.

You need to steam the carpet-floor replace it it was dirty. The prize for the breakfast buffé was prozed to high.

"New York in Spring"

Perfect location, close to Times Square and number of metro stations.Many attractions nearby reachable by foot.Good breakfast buffet with full range of cold and hot buffet.

"Not at all up to Novotel Standards"

I have stayed at few Novotel Hotels before and this has to be the worst among all of them. The location of the hotel is just perfect and hence i booked this hotel. But the rooms are so tiny. Staff is not helpful at all. Rather rude at some times. The building has Air con and heating problems. Not a great hotel to stay if you like your sleep.

Just as the title! Great location for Times Square and a great example of Novotel and thier standards. Super friendly staff as well......... If I had to find something to improve on, maybe the rooms could come with Tea/Coffee facilities.........All in all the perfect hotel for a NYC break.

"It was great."

I liked to location (each of the most important attraction couls be reached very easy), the service and the room as well. The bed is comfortable which is very rare.

"Everithing Excelent!"

It's great hotel. Near every place, under the hotel has a Duane Reade if you don't have breakfast in your hospity, you can do it in Duane Reade, cheap e excelente quality. The bedroom is very clena, the employees is very attencious e friendily.

"Great location, great terrace, horible rooms"

The location of the Hotel is very convenient to the theater district and all Midtown locations however the rooms are in desperate need of renovation. The mattresses are very firm and uncomfortable. The hotel staff is very nice and accommodating. Heather, the evening bartender is wonderful. The outside terrace along Broadway is unique and is the reason we stayed at this hotel. This would be a great NYC hotel if it were not for the rooms and the mattresses. Considering that the rooms are outdated, this hotel is way overpriced.

"Great location and reliable standards"

The Novotel chain is not the most hip or trendy place to stay in New York, but it's services and standards are reliable and it is in a fantastic location. Our room was big by NY standards and as we were on the 33rd floor, it was extremely quiet. Overall, we had a fantastic time and were very happy with our choice of accommodation.
"Should have been great"

Well Accor as a group normally provide excellent service and hotels, the times square hotel is the exception. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left the staff could not have done less to assist with anything, from faulty items in the rooms to a very poor quality breakfast complete with cracked cups and plates. The room was just OK at the price and location. The door looked like it had seen better days and had been attempted to be kicked in a few times. The location is great and if the staff gave slightly more than a damn about being there it could be just OK if they try. Otherwise they are obviously selling based on location and name, shame accor, shame.
"A corner of Paris in New York"

Well located hotel near Times Square. Rooms bigger than I anticipated for New York. Everything clean and well maintained. Breakfast was a good buffet selection, although not included in room price. The first room allocated was next to the lift shaft and a bit noisy, but it was no problem being relocated to a quieter room. The hotel is part of a French group and attracts lots of French speakers adding to the cosmopolitan atmosphere for your New York stay.

Rooms were of good size.Mini bar was sensor based and had no free space so could not store cold items in room.No tea / coffee making facilities in room.We found the concierge to be unhelpful.Location convenient to Times Square which was very busy and tourist orientated. We will stay in a different part of Manhatten on our next visit if possible.

Great Location. Easy to get to Time Square and the nice end of town. Room was spacious, so plenty of space for luggage. Bathroom was very roomy also. Only disappointment was the way the room was cleaned each day, very basic, bed was hardly made.

It was the second time I stayed in Novotel Times SquareI had problems with booking in the first time, and after write to the manager, and he said in the next time, he would to do the best for the inconvenience, because the front desk don't followed the rules of AClub, Im a Aclub Gold memberI asked only one Late check-out, but again the reception was very unfriendly, even quoting the previous problem, was not only interested in applying the rules properly Aclub explicit, and after talking too much stress could 2h late-checkoutI live in Brazil, and always I stay in a Sofitel Jequitimar, they are so different in the treatment, i fell respected there.And to finish, I will not recommend this hotel again. The location its fantastic, the room, but the problem its the front desk.
"One Small Thing can Spoil a Stay"

Novotel times Square is the only hotel in the world I have atayed in that had no facility in your room to make a hot drink. If it were not for that I would stay there again in a blink. Being right on Broadway and Times Square was great. Not being able to get up in the morning and have a hot drink was very poor.

Stayed there twice, once on my own and the second with my family. Good location, close proximity to Times Square without the noise and lights of it. The only issue may be the walls as we can hear the noise from the adjacent rooms especially when they use the bathroom, etc.
"Frenchman's accomodation in New York"

The hotel is only a few hundreds yards from Times Square showing signs of wear and tear yet still very clean. The staff varies in its quality of service with the French or European staff being the most helpful not so for the local immigrant staff.Ideal positioning with views of Times Square offering standard style rooms with excellent breakfast and overall food restauration.Good business facilities with free internet in the business lounge and printer for boarding passes.

Location is excellent just off Times Square so you could escape the area easily. Lots of places to eat nearby. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms are a good size, clean although becoming a little tired, bed/pillows were excellent. I was on 32nd floor with a partial view of the Times Square neons. Most annoying thing was having to get a lift from street level to the reception area and then access separate lifts to your room. Hotel has 480 rooms and 2 little lifts moving people up and down.

They didn't recognize the platinum member, and I have to ask them again on the another day for the welcome drink. They still forget the small gift. Also, their bellman charges you one dollar per bag, which makes me unwilling to give the any tips. The only good thing might be the great location. More, I live in the 28th floor, I still can hear some noise from the street, maybe they should consider to change the glasses to double layer type.
