More expensive for the value, location is not convenient.Restaurant is good, rooms are average. Front desk staff are good. Accor programme is good. Will do well if the rooms are refurbished.Overall an average hotel.
"No Minibar/ No Food from Hotel Restauarnt"

Not only was the Minibar removed from my Hotel Room (they only have certain rooms with a minibar they told me), but also could I not order food from the hotel restaurant because I was a 'prepaid' guest. Only after I 'told them' that I am an 'le Club' platinum level client would I receive food from the hotel restauarnt. To be fair I was offered a different room with a minibar, but I declined, because I had already layed out my travel belongings. I also did not like that I was placed next to an elevator. Also the 'le Club Preffered Counter' did not do anything for me. I have definately stayed in much better Mercure Hotels.

It was nice and welcoming. A family friendly hotel. Slightly away from the city but we had a use of car. overall, a good stay.

The Hotel location is a bit far from the city centre, but the nearby location of the tramways allows to get downtown pretty quickly. It is overall a very nice Hotel with competent staff and accommodation you expect from the chain. Two points were a bit on teh negative side, though. You have to pay for the internet connection, although the Hotel has a monthly subscription to Broadband services. Basically they earn money from each guest to pay for their monthly charges.The noise insulation of the rooms could be better. General noise from teh hallway a neighbouring rooms comes through infiltered and can be quite disturbing when all you want is sleep.

We had our two dogs with us and the hotel is dog friendly. We had booked a ground floor room and the room was good. The only thing we did find expensive was the drinks provided in the room, over 3 Euros for a small bottle of water is very expensive.

Good service, friendly and very knowledgeable staff esp at the front desk and the bar. quiete and secure location although a bit of a distance from Koln city centre. Fitness room can do with a bit more equipment and Dont expect to use the pool for exercise as it is more suited for a leisurely splash around than for doing laps. Would I book a room there again...Ofcourse I would. The atmosphere generated by the attitude of the Staff makes the stay worth while despite the slight cons.

Following an excellent experience in the Mercure Munster, I was expecting the same level of service here. How wrong could I be!The whole hotel was quite old and run down, the room was pokey with no air-con, there was no free WiFi. The staff were also not very friendly or helpful. Very disappointing.On the plus side, the tram stop was only 3 mins walk and nearby were many supermarkets and fast food outlets.I would have expected all Mercure hotels to be the same...not the case.Very average and probably no better than an Ibis.

nice hotel, but my room 311 needs the walls painting ,bad scuff marks and dirty also nets and curtains the same dirty,my only other point was there never seemed to be anyone at reception in the evening or only one person on the desk wich caused a long delay

Good location; near the train station; good accessiblity to cologne centre (very important; because we dont have to worry about car parking in cologne centre). Bakeries, supermarket in the vicinity.friendly hotel staff; EXCELLENT HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES, will definitely come again (we go to cologne two times a year).the only problem we had was the sleep quality (and this was not due to the highway traffic etc ) . but because the bed (mattress) was harder than what we got used to. (Woke up with backache everyday)
