"Ibis Tilburg - Good Value for Money"

Tilburg is a good central base for visiting towns, cities and tourist attractions in this part of Holland - ideal for Floriade 2012 just over an hour away. The Ibis is situated on the outskirts and easily accessible to all major routes - particularly with Sat Nav! The hotel made an excellent base for 10 days - although the rooms are small they are kept very clean. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is rather tired looking and we only had one dinner there which was of reasonable quality but quite expensive. We will certainly return to this hotel particularly when Accor have a discount offer which makes it extremely good value.

The biggest drawback of this hotel is the location. It's handy for the ring road and local business parks, but not much else! There is a bus stop nearby which gets you into town in 10 minutes, but it's a really dead area from what I could see. Also, I booked a taxi at the desk one morning and had to wait almost half an hour after the time I ordered it, due to a mix-up! That could have been a one-off, but hardly inspires confidence.On the upside, the price was excellent, but it didn't quite make five stars because of the pricey food. Breakfast was good but cost €13 (I think) which is a little more than I'd like to pay in a budget establishment like this (no real choice though as area was so dead). Dinner was also pricey, €15-20 for a main course, and in contrast to breakfast, was rather poor - my steak tasted like it had been only recently defrosted.However, I might stay there again (and definitely would if I had a car), if only because there are so few places to stay in Tilburg!

My second stay at Tilburg Ibis. Very nice staff and service. The buffet breakfast is very good and available at convenient hours. It's handily close to the Efteling theme park. The car park has plenty of room.
