"Ibis great as usual"

Clean as expected. Check-in speedy and comfortable at every Ibis. Pleasant to walk around the town. We brought an adapter and computer works great. Get logged in in seconds at every Ibis. We brought an extension cord which has been helpful in some hotels, even in Key West, Florida. Without a converter, I am unable to use my electric toothbrush. Only tip I have is for people renting cars in Spain and driving to France: In Spain diesel at gas station is GREEN-handled and in France it is YELLOW-handled. Diesel is called Gaziole (yellow handle) in France for those who don't speak French. We found out that green handles in France lead to draining the whole tank after being towed to the mechanic' shop to drain the car's tank of green-handled gas. We were lucky that a Dutch couple helped us to interpret our needs on their phone to the local mechanic in Sarlot who spoke English and was a great help.

The Hotel is in a good location opposite the river and we had a great view from our roomThe only downside is the parking which is in a public park and there were young men sleeping in a car which had obivously been parked there a while which was very worrying

Generally find Ibis hotels to be good value and this one was no exception. The absolutely best thing about it was the location: I opened my curtain to look up at the cathedral which was just a stone's throw away. It's also close to the river and although there is no hotel carpark, there is free parking on the road, on the riverbank and in a very nearby carpark (bit lumpy though).The staff were very good and there was no problem with checking in and out. Breakfast could have been better (bread was underdone in the centre and the fruit looked to be yesterday's) but the other offerings were perfectly acceptable.I slept well; the bathroom was clean and had an overbath shower. Plenty of space. Just wish I'd been there for more than an overnight as the town looked really lovely and I would like to have explored a bit more. On the plus side, the hotel is very central so going for a quick walk was very easy.

Location excellent overlooking the river but room size small and baths/shower are difficult for elderly people to get in. Special offer price per room was very good £35 but optional continenal breakfast was a bit expensive.

We had to arrive at the hotel after midnight. Both communication with the hotel before arrival and arrival at that late hour were easy and staff were welcoming. There could be more info about where to park when booking...as with all ibis hotels, but parking was easy once we had enquired...just a shame we couldn't have gone straight to the carpark in our weiry state. This ibis is not very modern, and also smelled of cigarette smoke (except in the bedroom), which isn't what you expect these days. Clean and basic. Lovely location near the river.

found this a perfect location along the river in the old city. easy walking to some great restaurants. pretty river walk to jog, stroll or bike. Nothing fancy, but has everything you need. I am a single female traveller and felt quite safe. Tip: if you are arriving into the city by train, have the hotel reserve a taxi to meet you, otherwise,you may not be any to find one.

Having stayed at this hotel twice before, this stay was no surprise and a repeat of several pleasant overnight visits to Periqueux. The location on the river just at the side of the cathedral is beautiful and allows the visitors to freely access the old town by foot for shops, restaurants and some wonderful old buildings. If I were to propose improvements, they would be two in number. First, I wish the elevator was a little larger but realize that is not practical (or possible) due to the footprint of the hotel site. Second, a better drive up for temporary parking near reception would allow for a more easy transfer of luggage. Tour bus operators tend to block the front stairs up to the main reception doors and the side alley doesn't work as it is no parking and far too narrow. There's lots of good, free parking near in the public lot (max. 48 hrs.) and along the river.
"Excellent stay close to best parts of town"

The hotel is right on the river and just down from the cathedral. Fortuneately there is ample parking just by the river as there is none in front of the hote. The best part of Périgueux is less than 100m away up the old town steps. The restaurant is average and the bar space somewhat cramped, but the service is excellent, and there is an ambience of a true team spirit. The staff could not be faulted. We speak French, so that helps, but I believe that they also speak |English and Spanish. The food is of moderate quality, but there are many excellent small restuarants close at hand in the old town.
"Worth a stay"

This IBIS is in an excellent quite position overlooking the river and just minutes walk from the lovely old town of Perigueux. The set up is typically IBIS and offers the usual standards one would expect. Our stay was a little on the expensive side for an IBIS but this was more than made up for in it's location. It also offers a nice outside terrace. Worth a stay.
