"2nd time stay"

Excellent valve for money and very nice place to stay. This was my 2nd time staying in Cairns for work and I will be making this trip every 4 months and I will not stay anywhere else, for me this is the only place to stay, it was recommended to me and I recommend it to anyone

"Anniversary Week"

Hotel and staff all excellent, this is not a complaint but I would like you to bring back the Seafood Buffet to the restaurant. The Ala Carte was also good but missed the fresh seafood..Will stay again ,good location , good breakfasts and value for money.

Management responseI am pleased to learn that you enjoyed your stay at the resort.It was a difficult decision to replace the seafood buffet with a value for money A La Carte dinner. While we do have some regular guests who prefer the seafood buffet, the number of people using our restaurant has increased by 20% since we introduced a 2 course dinner for just $32. Our winter menu will include a seafood platter which is sure to tempt those who enjoy seafood to dine with us.Kind regards,

"Never again Novotel Cairns"

The mattress's need replaceing as every time you sit/lye down you make contact with the ensemble,the TV didn't work with remote control unless you were standing next to the TV. The rubbish bin in the main room was missing. All electrical equipment must be tagged by electician this was not done on a lot of the appliances. When we went to reception to complain they gave me some new batteries for th remote control & said try these as for the other complains they said it would have to wait for the staff to look into this tommorrow. When I went down in the morning I was talking to an asian lady who had a heavy accent I asked if I could talk to someone I could understand what they were saying. She also tried to charge me for dinner which I payed for the previous night I even showed her the receipt after 15 miniuts she did not charge me. Whilst waiting for a taxi another guest said it took him 1/2 hour to get through that he did not have breakfast they found that it was another room he also said he had the same problems in his room including not being properly cleaned & bed sheete had been tuned over not new one's fitted. he said that he also found that he could not understand them because of there heavy accents. They tell you they will take an imprint of c/card & not charge unless you have an amount oweing, this is inccorrect they take $50 out none of the other accor hotels did this to us whilsgt we stayed with them in Cairns.

good location and good value, however the breakfast is not so fress, rice pudding I had on first day was bit off and friuts are not fresh as well. nice hotel but did not have good sleep

"Nice and simple"

This hotel is nicely positioned in Cairns, very close to great selection of Resturants and the marina. Staff seemed very helpful and nice to deal with. However the whole of the 6th floor smelt of mould and in our room also, thankfully didnt spend that much time in there. Never experienced that before. The pool area great made even better with a bar.

The location was excellent. Everything is so near - DFO (direct factory outlet), Cairns Central (shopping mall), casino hotel, restaurants, shops selling local products etc etc.Service at the reception was excellent. We were assisted by a very patient staff - Tomoya, who offered places of interest and direction. He even printed a copy of the map to guide us to the place

"Disappointed"

I had higher expectations of the room quality from the website pictures. The room felt like it was once a motel that had received a small refurb, nothing flash. The bathroom has a shower curtain!The walls are very thin, we could hear the bats all night along with the room next doors guests having showers. The property grounds were lovely, great pool, reception, bar and restaurant.It is also situated in a great location. Overall i would not recommend this property.

"Shame about the food"

The hotel is resonably modern with good fascilities and service.It is in walking distance to everything in the CBD.The pool area is nicely set up.As an accor advantage plus member I only paid half price for dinning at the restaurant with my son.The seafood buffet on Friday was very average so we decided to have the normalmenu on Saturday and we were very disapointed. I had to take my son to McDonalds after dinner because his meal was so terrible, he could not eat it and I tried it and had to agree.A shame that the restaurant is not up to the same standarts as the rest of the hotel.It's the only novotel I have stayed at, where I was not happy with the food.

"Cairns Holiday"

In April 2012 my wife and I stayed at the Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort. It was our first visit to Cairns and this hotel was ideally located to be our base for seeing the sights of the city. The accomodation was great value and the facilities just what we needed for a relaxed tropical holiday. We will stay here again.

I have stayed here many times - a couple of days each time.Good location, reasonable price, etcSuits my needs, can eat in or easy walk to a wide variety of eaterys, etcThis time I had my wife & 8 year old son with me, good for them for the same reasons & pool is good for kids with a comfortable spot for parents to keep watch.Reception staff all helpfull with pleasant, relaxed but proffesional manner.Only negative is restaraunt appeared understaffed on Saturday night, they were struggling a bit - If that was an odd day - no worries, but they were clearly short handed.We only ate in that night, food was good.

great location, just a short walk to the esplanade, shops,the marina, restuarants. Rooms were nicely furnished, clean and comfortable. Service was great - happy to help in any way. We arrived off our flight at 10am, and they checked us in straight away - very lucky. Pool was big and clean. Also, there are barbeques next to the pool, so we could cook our own dinner. Great stay.

The hotel is clean, although not as new as I thought. The front desk is not as friendly as I experienced in other Accor Hotels.One thing very important, if you are staying in this hotel, request a room that is far from birds if you are not easy to fall asleep like me. I hardly slept the whole night as the birds were the loudiest ones I've met in my life.

We enjoyed our stay at Oasis in Cairns. It was great value for money, a good location and friendly staff. Our kids loved the pool and we all enjoyed the excellent buffet breakfast. The balcony was a waste of time as it was too small to even fit a chair on and we only used it to dry our towels. Beds were a bit too soft for our personal preferance. We used the gym as well which was adequately equipped.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Actually this hotel is old, but most of other hotels in Cairns city area are also old. Our room was 2 Double beds pool view. As we had stayed at Sea Temple Resort & Spa Port Douglas before Novotel, especially the room seemed to be smaller comparing with it. But as comparing with other hotels in Cairns city area, it may not be small.There is a pool with white sand. My kids really enjoyed swimming in the pool and playing with white sand. Even though the weather was pretty good and I thought the deck chairs would be hot, they were not. I was happy to sit on the deck chair without worrying about burns.Anyway we stayed for 4 nights with breakfast, which seems to be very reasonable.

Great Location and Deal, Excellent Facilities. Reception Staff were a bit lax, probably had a long day. Online booking that was apparently instant but by checking i time the details were not at the Hotel.

"Great family place to stay in Cairns"

I have stayed at the Cairns Oasis a number of times and it does feel like a resort. It has great deals for families and there are always young kids enjoying themselves there. My wife and I particularly like relaxing in the pool, which has a sandy beach at one end and a swim-up bar in the middle. The meals are great, particularly breakfasts. Rooms are nice with plenty of space. The only minor annoyance is that the bathroom vanity is a little small and the fridge is the typical small bar fridge, at least in the single rooms we have stayed in. It may be bigger in the family sized rooms. Staff are always very friendly. Locals, which we are, get genuine deals here as well. One day here is never enough.

I stayed here on a business trip and was pretty satisfied with the hotel. The room was clean & well-presented and the service was friendly & helpful.The restaurant meals could have been better with the evening meal best described as "average" and the breakfast the next morning the same. The coffee machine didnt appear to be working properly and there was no-one around to report this to. The "fresh" food offered at breakfast had the distinct feel of "left over from the morning before" about it.Overall though, a decent place to stay if you are in Cairns.

"Great Location and swimming pool/lagoon for the kids..."

Close to the esplanade, which means you are close to the public lagoon and wharf.Car rental locations all within a block of the hotel.Yummy apples at the front desk.

"2 Night Stay"

The location of this hotel is great, close to everything in Cairns city. The service is good and friendly when approached, though no one went out of their way for me. The rooms were clean enough but again it just felt like the staff did not go that extra step to make it an amazing experience. The gym is way too small and I couldn't get in as there were already 4 people using it. But overall location, cost and amenitites I would recommend this hotel. If you are looking for that extra touch though then I would not.

"Birthday holiday"

This hotel was in a ideal location. Wak to the Esplanade was a few minutes away. One thing I found was the meals at the restaurant were very expensive. It was nery nice to have an "apple " everyday from the reception desk and having free internet was a plus. Pool was great!One issue were the " fruit bats " , very noisy and the paths around the hotel were very dirty

The rooms we were given were away from the main office area and were musty from damp. Whilst it is the wet season I expect a room that is fresh. As a repeated business traveller to the region i also prefer a room closer to the main ammenities of the facility.

This hotel is very clean and well appointed, the service was friendly and efficient and the location was handy to everything. The one drawback were the bats in the trees outside... make sure you stay in the tower if you don't want to listen to them all night.
