"weekend stay"

Great weekend but the rooms particularly the bathrooms need refurbishing. The toilets are noisy and if flushed in another room loud enough to wake you. Our pop up washbowl plug did not work Staff are great and very helpful.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and have always found the staff exceptionally efficient, professional and friendly. The Manager in particular is very good. Nothing is too much trouble however busy they are.

"One night escape"

I booked on line and paid up front, so the check in was speedy, as was the the checkout. We were met on entry with a very cheerful and helpful knowledgeable member of staff, the room was spacious, very clean, well equipped and quiet. We had an excellent nights sleep, with no disturbance, we were offered breakfast on arrival, but declined however if we changed our mind we were advised to ring reception, and as a backup we were issued with a breakfast in bed door informer, A good all round experience, which I thoroughly recommend , Brilliant V.F.M. will definitely re visit

"Well located for visiting nearby Derby or Nottingham"

I was attending a business conference at the Pride Park Stadium, a 13 minute drive away in Derby, so the location was perfect. The hotel is just a few minutes drive from J25 of the M1 motorway. There's a large car park (free) with good security lighting. The reception, bar and dining room staff were efficient, friendly and welcoming. There was a good choice of food and drinks available at reasonable prices. My room was quiet (at the back of the hotel), large and very clean. The room rate was amazing value for money. I had only one criticism - the hotel corridors looked "tired" and some minor redecoration would do the hotel more justice.

At the price I paid this was a very cost effective place to stay.The room was clean and tidy although a little dated. Bar was adequate but some appeared to have problems with quality of service and bar food. Location was ideal for onward M1 travel or for Derby and Nottingham by car. Local amenities were fine.

We enjoyed our stay, especially with the added attraction of the barber shop quartets,we dont stay in hotels very often and were very pleased that the bed was comfortable, nice and firm. We shall certainly use this hotel if we are ever in Nottingham again.

"Great value for a Christmas stay"

Though this is a chain hotel the rooms are comfortable and spacious. The staff are always very helpful. polite and friendly. We did not have breakfast on this occasion but previously it has been hot and tasty though they do not always cope if busy and everyone comes down close together. The location is excellent for us as we have family nearby though it might not suit some people as it is neither city centre nor country. The sign posting to the entrance to the car park is poor

I have stayed in this hotel regularly and have always found it very comfortable and relaxed, in a great location - just a few minutes off the M1.The staff have always been very competant and friendly with everone being most helpful

"An Elderly Novotel Long Overdue for an Overhaul"

Apparently this was the 2nd Novotel built in the UK in the 1970s - it shows the age. It feels very tired inside - many fittings are worn and scratched. There is a single power outlet (that one can use) for each room. The restaurant/bar has been refurbished and the breakfast was excellent.

Quick check in. Friendly and helpful staff. Good value. Room clean and comfortable. Ideal location as visiting relatives in Long Eaton. The breakfast was very good but expensive if paying the full rate.

A great stay at a great price. It made a nice stop over. The hotel was easy to find, had good parking and we were greeted by friendly, courteous staff. The room was clean and comfortable. Full marks.Will certainly book again.
