"Business comfort"
1st October 2012, altontraveller, Hampshire, England
This was a comfortable hotel with very helpful staff, but a little souless. It was perfectly placed for the town but difficult to find on a busy Saturday afternoon - I could see it but couldn't get to it. The restaurant is very small - we wanted a light meal after sightseeing all day and waited about 40 minutes - not the staff's fault, the one waiter had a party of 10 and 2 other couples. We had to sit on the balcony as no seats left. That said, I would stay there again.

Very friendly service and desk staff and an excellent breakfast. Don't leave this hotel without the breakfast indeed.
"Great location."

We used this Hotel as an overnight stop on a driving holiday from Germany to Italy. Room was comfortable for all 4 of us, but we opted to have breakfast in a cute cafe next to the church around the corner where there is a large fruit and veg market. Pleasant staff who spoke English, and we used the parking garage located behind the hotel overnight.
"Nice Hotel and right in the centre of Freiburg"
17th January 2012, TsirikasThanos, Thessaloniki, Greece
A nice hotel, right in the centre of Freiburg. Nice, very big clean rooms, although the walls need some painting. Ideal for families with small children. Very good service and nice people. The only negative is the price of the breakfast. You need 32 Euro for a 2 person breakfast, while you could buy for 7 euro the same beverages from the bakery store right across the hotel. For sure will visit again!!!!
"Good, but not excellent"
6th October 2011
Good location. Room was large and well equipped, however, there was noice in the corridor and from the elevator. Breakfast was mostly ok. In the last morning of my stay I had to ask the staff to clean the table after previous guests.
"Excellent stopping off point"
13th September 2011, Bloemendaal
Freiburg im Breisgau is an excellent weekend destination or an excellent overnight stop en route from Northern Europe to Southern Europe by car. The Mercure am Munster is modern and comfortable while not being too luxurious. Its location is very central. It has friendly and helpful staff, convenient parking facilities and an excellent breakfast buffet - all in all, excellent value for money.
"Pretty Good"
3rd September 2011, Portland, OR -USA
We arrived there in the early evening and we were nicely welcomed. The check in was really fast and we were shirtly in our rooms. The rooms were clean and tidy and one of them had nice extras. It is the kind of service you would expect from this chain.
"Excellent central location"
16th August 2011, Nick&Ann61, Northampton
The Mercure offered good value accommodation for a family of 4, very close to the centre of Freiburg. Only 5 minutes walk to the Munster (cathedral), and a lovely German market on Wednesday morning. Enjoyed a fantastic meal at the Ganter Brauerai on Musterplatz, washed down with the locally brewed Ganter beer.
"By the Münster"
2nd August 2011, Bern
Nice spacey rooms, never seen so many channels on a hotel-TV !Location is great, right by the city centre (and the cathedral - Münster), 15 minutes walk to the train station, parking is a bit expensive (paid 17 euros for one night).Very nice view of the city can be seen walking up the hill a couple of minutes.
"A fine hotel in a great location"
24th July 2011, Stoke
The Mercure is in the centre of Freiburg about 10 minutes walk from the railway station. The hotel is convenienelty located for all the key sites of the old town, together with a range of restautrants. My top-floor room had a great view of the Munster and the old town. It was spotlessly clean and immaculately presented. I had room service dinner of a plate of local sausages together with the mandaory beer. Both were excellenet qualtity and the cost (less than Eur12) was excellent. The breakfast room was busy but very effectively managed. There was a wide range of continental options, both hot and cold, all immaculately presented.Having stayed at the Novotel and the Panorama Mercure in Freiburg, the Muenster Mercure is without doubt the nest option, If you can get a high floor room then I wouild heartily recommend this hotel.
"Its fine"
21st July 2011, Hinckley
Nice hotel in a decent location. Only problem is that you only get a single sized duvets for the double bed. Room is large with a sofa, desk, mini bar etc. However I would definately recommend it. Friendly staff and right next to a Migros. Also near to the shops.
"Excellent , again!"

we recommend this hotel when visiting Freiburg, its very central and convenient. The staff are very friendly andhelpful. Although the bar was not open, you can get a drink in the restaurant. Breakfast was A+, and good value
"Bavaria June 11"

Centrally located, within a short walk of the Munster and good restaurants & bars along Konvikstrasse (the old town). Had breakfast in town as hotel was expensive. Reception staff friendly and helpful.
"How a hotel should be!"
9th June 2011, Izegem
Everytime when I come back to Freiburg it's a pleasure staying in this hotel.- superfriendly staff!!!!- very nice restaurant- parking under the hotel (public but parts for Mercure)- much better and cheaper than the Novotel further away where the rooms are oldfashioned- if you can book the hotelrooms with balcony and view on the cathedral, then do! A superberb view and feeling- the hotel is in the center but very easy to reach- for runners a park on the other side- and of course, you are in Schwarzwald! One of the best business hotels I ever had (travelling 30 to 50% of my time, I know how hotels look like). And this all for a great and cheap price!
"EXCELLENT HOTEL IN EVERY WAY"
1st June 2011, Penang
Originally, we were going to take a tram to this hotel from the Hauptbahnhof, but since it was a beautifully sunny day when we arrived, we decided to walk instead (armed with a Trip Advisor / Google map). It takes about 15 minutes. At first i was somewhat puzzled when i reached the square on which the hotel is located , as the Hotel mercure isnt immediately obvious from street level. I think that the modern shopping complex in which it is located should have some additional signage. However, once I had located the entrance I was immediately impressed by the very pleasant hotel lobby and helpful reception staff. The allocated hotel room was both very clean and very bright, and the bathroom amenities were excellent.Since the windows were so large, I was worried that the room could become very hot, but found that the window was fully openable, although there was excellent air conditioning available in addition. The buffet breakfast which I had booked at a special inclusive price, was far beyond my expectations and the food choice was amazing, cooked and cold meats, fruits, different bread choices, mueslis, yoghurts, juices etc etc all being available, and the breakfast serving staff, especially the Captain were extremely helpful and efficient. All in all, my BEST hotel breakfast experience anywhere.Really, I cannot fault this excellent 3 star hotel in anyway, everything is in easy reach in this lovely city, which is such a good centre for rail and driving excursions into and around the Black Forest and Alsace.
"Bad Luck?"
21st March 2011, Lyon
As an accor favorite guest with platinum status, I booked a standard room via internet ; till there, no issue. Parking easy to find. Hotel well located to walk to the city center. But then the room given to me had a terrible smell - a problem in the bathroom ; I asked for new room. I have been given a room stuck to the elevator while I asked for a room far from elevator ; no surprise, very noisy room. So I asked for a new room, and only smoking rooms were available. I kept this smoking room even if the smell was strong. It is a pitty that the front desk was not doing its outmost to find a real solution ; finally, my night/sleep was not good and started the day after very tired.
"Nice Hotel"
15th December 2010, Melbourne/Australia
Nice hotel - but breakfast is a bit expensive, Hotel a bit far from the station - print a map on how to get there (locals don't seem to know where it is). Room was nice and spacious. Freiburg is a lovely city and the hotel was close to the inner/old city. We arrived on Sunday and not much was open. Monday was a holiday and as they say in German "alles war tod". Nothing was open (even McDonalds was closed!!!!!!) Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay (one night). Would have been nice to stay longer -but!!! no time!Recommended.
"Bad service at the service disk at 10 p.m."
15th November 2010, Copenhagen
We came at about 22 o clock . The first thing the ladies told us, was that the reservation was not okay, because we came so late, so we could not have the smoker room that we have reserved. The ladies in the reception treated us, as kiids, who had done something wrong. My wife became very sad, and wanted us to find another hotel. We often come to the Mercure Hotels in Freiburg Panorama and in Hannover Atrium, and are always treated well, and there are no rules for coming too late. The room was smaller than usualy on a Mercure hotel, but very expensive.Next time we come to Freiburg, we will go to the Panorama Hotel.
