"Welcome to Amiens"
5th April 2012, ELLESMERE PORT
Modest enough hotel but exceptional welcome and service.Very good restaurant. Everything as it should be.
"reception, evening meal and breakfast"
23rd September 2011, Bury St. Edmunds, United Kingdom
on arrival reception poor, language barrier, not so when evening and morning receptionists took over 1st class. Couldn't get evening meal owing to a coach party booking, told we could sit down at 8-30 but was refused and told to return 9 o/clock we then gave up and ate elsewhere. Huge queues at breakfast. Having said this the other Ibis hotels we stayed in Arras v/good , St.Dizier v/good, Annecy the room left a lot to be desired, otherwise good. Will not respond to surveys for these hotels
"Ibis Amiens Cathedral"
11th August 2011
We booked this as a stop over on way back to Calais ferry and managed to booked for extremely cheap price under £50. At this price the hotel is an absolute bargain, and is within 10 mins walk of the stunning cathedral and very nice restaurants and bars.Room and hotel very clean and room size fine. Lacking in a bath but large shower and otherwise perfectly adequate facilities.Would definitely recommend for stay in Amiens and especially if can get at this sort of price.
"Great location, good value for money"
8th August 2011, Mobeynorthyorkshire, North Yorkshire
Great location, 10 minutes from the cathedral. 'Functional' rather than 'french' but you have the reliability of a comfortable bed and a great shower, with none of the quirks of some french hotels. Breakfast was buffet, with plenty of choice - but we wondered what the hotel staff were there to do other than chatter to each other, especially as the restaurant (while ok) could have done with a good dusting. A lot of reviewers of this hotel complained about the carparking. We didn't find any problems with it at all. And we were able to park outside the hotel on arrival, check-in, unload and then park up without any fuss. A great stay for one night when convenience was the aim, rather than french character. The son et lumiere at the cathedral was great too!
"Good Value Budget Hotel"
7th August 2011, Burton on Trent
I would not usually complain about a Budget Hotel and this one certainly was value for money. One minor niggle was that we had to pay for car parking which I had not expected. My other complaint was that only one spare pillow was provided. My wife and I both prefer to sleep with two pillows so I asked for an extra one at reception, only to be told that they only provide one per room no matter how many occupants.Otherwise hotel was clean and bed was comfortable (apart from the pillow situation), It was reasonably well situated for city centre and well sign posted for someone who was a stranger to the area. One tip would be to unload your bags before parking. The car park provided is on the third floor below ground with no lift!
"Overnight stay at Ibis in Amiens"
2nd August 2011, Sheffield
Hotel has its own parking facilities, which are good. It is located near the city center which was extremely handy for us to visit various sites. The rooms and decor are a little tired and the rooms are noisier than some of newer Ibis's we stopped at. Staff are very friendly and helpful the bar area is OK and the buffet breakfast was very good and well stocked.
"Weekend in Picardy"
28th July 2011, Fou Elmsr
Ideal base for visiting WWI sites, including great uncle's grave at Heilly Station, just outside Amiens. Coming back after a long day out in the field, we found the hotel most welcoming. The underground carpark was a bonus for security.
"ibis amiens"
13th July 2011, Dunblane, Scotland
A reasonable hotel in a nice city - Amiens has an attractive city centre and riverside area and the Ibis Hotel is situated within a couple of minutes walk of the cathedral and restaurant/bar area. The underground garage is essential as the area around the hotel is very busy and congested. The hotel itself is acceptable, although rather tired-looking; it could use some freshening up and the breakfast room is quite dark. The hotel is in the middle of a block on a busy road, so finding a space to unload luggage is a problem, as there is no lift from the garage(3 levels underground).
"Good Hotel"
6th May 2011, Northampton
Excellent at a discounted price but not at the full price. The hotel has a very good location, underground parking was welcome but was a pain to use as the entry system failed on several occasions. On the first time, a hotel employee, who was putting some bins, out was able to use the intercom on our behalf to gain access whereas we ourselves had been unable to make ourselves understood.
"Great value, good location and reasonably comfortable - worthy of consideration"
5th May 2011, Wary_Driver, London
The hotel is located within a short walk of the centre of Amiens and is easily accessible by road with it's own parking (EUR 7 per day). While the building feels a bit dated, and the rooms are on the small side, it was clean and comfortable.
"Let down by niggles"
4th May 2011, Cambridge
1. Advertised 24 hours drinks not available.2. Not given crucial information at check-in.3. Food not replenished at breakfast.4. Repetitive malfunction of key card.5. Cleaners using both lifts simultaneously.6. Not advised in advance that Wi-Fi seriously limited and therefore not suitable for many business functions.7. Rooms a bit small.8 A bit pricey for what it was.
"Great value for money with secure parking"
19th April 2011, Northern Ireland
This hotel is very convenient to the Centre of Amiens & is great value for money. Staff are very friendly & the rooms are clean. Walls are a little thin perhaps & the bar could do with updating but overall very good. Rosemary, Northern Ireland
