"Excellent stay"

Had a wonderful 3 nights (17-20 May) at Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach and thanks to great Receptionist there who managed to move our night of 18 May from Sofitel Brisbane to Sofitel Gold Coast - we were able to remain on the Gold Coast.

Good service attentive staff hotel well positioned at Broadbeach for the leisure traveller.We did find however that the cost of food services over expensive and was more than disappointed that the main restaurant did not accept Advantage Plus cards.

The receptionist was happy and helpful upon arrival and checkoutThe Hotel is a great location with multiple restaurants and a shopping centre close by.The buffet dinner offered at the level 3 restaurant was spot on!The 180 degree view from the room is spectactular.Overall my stay was delightful and i would highly recommend Sofitel to others in traveling in the area
"A great stay but an unhappy ending"

The Sofitel is in a great location and the rooms live up to the brand expectations. We were upgraded to a King Ocean View Spa room with a balcony which was fantastic for our 2 day stay. When we checked in our Accor loyalty card was registered without any comment. We used the card to get the 50% dining discount at breakfast which was up to the usual high standard. At check-out time I was taken aback to discover that Sofitel in Broadbeach is not a member of the Accor club that allows members to accrue loyalty points, and in my case redeem our saved-up Accor vouchers. So the "reward weekend" we'd looked forward to rapidly turned into an expensive lesson in "buyer beware". Sofitel Broadbeach should either belong to all of the Accor loyalty scheme, or clearly advertise they don't belong on the Accor booking website.

As usual the Soffitel lived up to its previously" excellent places to get a good nights sleep". The location is good for beach, shopping and night life.

Great location, Friendly Staff, Lovely and Clean. It had a relaxing feel yet their was plenty to do. The food was great. Will stay again when at the Gold Coast.

The welcome was a little better than last time I stayed and the room was reasonable - which was much better than last time. The breakfast in the boring was very average and the general service was poor. I was offered one cup of tea only - which was not hot enough for me - and was not offered a top up during my 25 minute stay in the restaurant. The fact that no Accor points are awarded to my account is very disappointing. Will not stay again when I visit the Coast next week.

Friendly, accommodating and genuinely eager to help staff. Room was beautiful - bed and bed linen most comfortable we've had staying in a hotel. Position - perfect, close to beach and new shopping/eatery area.

Our experience on check-in was professional and courteous and the position of the hotel is excellent, thats where it ends. Unfortunatley the rest of the hotel staff seemed less than interested to be there, the room was not what I would expect from the Sofitel particularly with regards cleanliness. The bathroom had mould on the ceiling and the rest of the room was dusty. The daily clean was shabby. There is hardly any storage so if you plan to stay more than one or two nights you will have bags and clothes everywhere. If it wasnt for the fantastic position it would have definately been a very disappointing stay and thats not what we have come to expect from the Sofitel brand.

Was disappointed with value for money - feel price of accomodation is overrated. We had breakfast outside and it was cold and windy, we had to keep juggling our meals getting in and out the door - with two young children it wasn't ideal... especially when there was room inside... it seemed because there was the Aust Swim Group? we weren't made feel important as they got priority of seating.

Great location above shopping centre and staff could not have been more helpful. Beds were comfortable and we liked the pillow menu. I would recommend this hotel.

We had a pleasant experience staying at the Sofitel Broadbeach. This was a weekend getaway and we both found the rooms and service to be of a very high standard. We enjoyed a great meal at Room 81 and the view and location helped make this a very relaxing weekend.

stayed at the Sofitel Broadbeach for one night using my Advantage Plus Club complimentary night. We had a river view room which was spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly need including plenty of space and a separate bath and large shower and very generous shower head. The king size bed was unbelievably comfortable and of course you can choose a pillow of your choice. All staff were extremely polite and pleasant and very well groomed. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast, staff again were lovely.

First room very musty had to get another room. However Raphael was very helpful and excellent in assisting us.With the complimentary drinks maybe all allow them to be used in the room or at least taken back to the room as we had kids and could not really use them.Not sure about the french greetings? I personally don't see the need and it did not enhance the exceptional appearance of the place by greeting me in french.

The hotel was clean and tidy. Staff were very attentive. The beds in the standard rooms areonly doubles but were comfortable enough. The breakfast was excellent. Having to pay for wireless is outdated and needs to be addressed as it is free in most hotels around the world and in many other on the coast. The Broadbeach location is preferable to Surfers as the area is much friendlier and civil at night. There is a great range of restaurants right outside the hotel.
"Noisy night at the Sofitel"

Overall we had a good stay at Sofitel Broadbeach - the service was friendly and the rooms nice and clean. However, the noise from the hotel bar below our room kept us awake until 1:30 - 2:00am. On arrival we were offered a room on a higher floor at an additional cost and we were not informed that we'd be staying on a low floor (level 4) that would be noisy during the night. The noise coming from the hotel's Room 81 bar was terrible. The blaring music kept pumping way past midnight and we could clearly hear people partying on the hotel's driveway (next to the bar). We rang hotel reception at 12:30am to find out when the music would stop and we were told that it'd stop soon but that it was a Saturday night and they couldn't guarantee it. We understand that the Gold Coast has a party reputation however, given the Sofitel's reputation we didn't expect our stay to be so interrupted. Don't bother with your free drink at the hotel's sports bar TC's - it's daggy and depressing!
