We stayed here on our way back from the half-term family ski trip. The hotel had everything we needed, without having any extra frills. We had a family room, and the children had separate camp beds which were easy to pull out. The room didn't have much extra space once they were out though. My only criticism woulod be that the decor was pretty tired.
"ski trip stop over"

excelent for our purpose -over night stop on way to Alps. Just off main autoroute, food good but an english translation of menu in restaurant would have been helpful.Staff friendly -a nice relaxing night which is all you want after a hard days drive
"Only if you're desperate"

Such a shame as the Novotel is usually a safe option. Hotel grubby and dirty, and a heavy smell of urine and sewer in the rooms and hallways. Breakfast and dining area okay, and the location in proximity to motorway is good, but we were very happy to get up and leave in the morning.
"Novotel Macon Nord"

The hotel is adequate for a motorway stopover and very conveniently situated. The staff were friendly and helpful. However there were two issues which lead to me reducing my rating for the hotel. 1. It's poor value for what you get, particularly the exobitant cost of the evening meal. It's supposedly a higher end motorway stopover and for that you want simple, filling food such as decent pizzas and pasta, meat with chips & salad etc. I ended up paying 18 euro for a 'brochette' with 3 pieces of meat on it and my son had a 'faux filet' which made a shoe look appetising and less filling. My wife had omlette and younger son had the children's menu and with a drink each it was £70!!!!!2. The toilet in the bedroom! I know that this may sound strange, but it's a strange toilet design with a flat platform so when you sit down to go to the toilet your stools stay on the platform. All well and good, but there wasn't enough water pressure to flush the toilet off the 'shelf' so my family and I ended up having to push it down the toilet with a ball of toilet paper each time - not pleasant!
"An Overnight Stay"

The hotel is well situated for British visitors making an overnight stop.It works well for us but the hotel is not as smart as Montpellier [or as expensive!].The restaurant/food was good and reasonably priced and the bar attractive.

Good location close to motorway but very quiet and peaceful. However we didn't sleep too well as bed was a bit too firm. Efficient and attentive restaurant and reception staff. We stayed in 4 Novotels on this trip and this was the only one where username and password had to be entered every time to access the free WiFi. Overall, hotel was excellent value due to the 50% special offer available for this stay.

"Macon"

Excellent hotel for a stopover after a ski trip, but the restaurant service and food quality is not great. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, and reception was very polite and fast. Access from the autoroute was very easy.
"Winter Room Tempreture"
11th January 2011, London
I have stayed at the same hotel a couple or more times when the tempreture outside is very cold. The problem is that there is NO substancial way to warm the bedroom up before going to bed, then maintaining the warmth in the room for the morning.
