"Don't eat in the restaurant!"

We (family of 3) stayed here for one night en route to our destination. Check in was very swift and the receptionist on duty was a very courteous and pleasant young man. The room was clean however the toilet could have done with a good dose of bleach as it was quite stained, and the quilts and pillows were so old and lumpy they really need to be replaced. We ordered dinner in the restaurant - what a huge mistake! My husband ordered the (overpriced) asparagus - complete ripoff. Consisted of 2 asparagus spears (halved length ways) that were so overcooked it was like eating mush, bit of lettuce, tomato and a perfectly cooked poached egg. His main was not much better. My steak was so chewy it was like eating chewing gum! the accompanying rice was obviously reheated in a microwave because it was mushy. Likewise the tian of vegetable gratin (sounds so nice but wasn't) wasn't a tian at all - it resembled a 'splat' of over microwaved/reheated mess. it was so hard it was all stuck together in one big splat on the plate. so bad i couldn't eat even half of the meal. The service was painfully slow (2 waiters) even though we were the 2nd table to arrive and only 14 diners in the 1 hour and 45 minutes we were there! Our second drinks order never arrived, neither did the jug of water requested when we first ordered. Needless to say we didn't order dessert. I complained to the waiter about the poor standard of food and he just shrugged his shoulders! I then complained to the same receptionist who checked us in. He couldn't apologise enough and made notes to give to the manager. On checkout, we hadn't been charged for any of the meal, not even my son's who actually liked what he ordered. So 10/10 for the receptionist.Out of all the Novotel hotels I have stayed in, this was by far the worst and the receptionist was the only redeeming feature. The 'chef', and i use this word very loosely, on duty that night should be sacked or sent on a cookery course immediately. In all, a dissappointing stay.

Older type Novotel room, sink did not drain very well and the shower hose leaked. However it was clean. Unfortunately our room was beside the fire doors and they constantly banged shut. Good restaurant service and nice staff.

Mid week so more business than holiday travellers, but pleasant stay after long day in the car. Food above par, excellent house salad and helpful efficient staff. Would strongly recomend this hotel as one of the better in this reliable chain.

excellent choice for one night stay. well situated on autoroute but quiet. good value breakfast and dinner. staff friendly and helpful and speak english. nice grounds. we slept well. liked room and service at dinner.

This hotel is prefectlyt located next to the highway and is for this an excellent en route hotel. The hotel rooms are tidy and personell provides friendly and good service. The continetnatl breakfast was sufficient.
