"Great hotel"

I've stayed at this hotel several times now and always enjoy the my stay here, great for children, rooms spacious and always clean. Lots of restaurants nearby.
"Disappointment"
22nd April 2012, Andy_Diluvian, Gloucestershire
Expected more from Novotel. Chose this hotel for a bit of comfort on the way home from holiday. Wish we booked an Ibis instead. The hotel was a bit run down. The service was poor. The bathroom was dirty. The room had only been prepared for one person even though we'd booked for three. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable.

nice hotel, rooms a little dated but great for an overnight on the way to or from the alps. Food decent quality and value

"Good hotel - not much on Novotel Restaurants nowadays"
28th February 2012, qafire, leicester
Right by the main routes and on the Commercial Centre Park (massive Auchan hypermarche nearby). Good points:Cheap, clean good beds, free parking, pleasant service spacious room - a good night’s sleep - (no problems with nearby roads/rail etc.)Bad points: not keen on Accor new trendy style in Mercure and Novotel Hotels - much pink, black and very bright halogen spot lighting - often nearly a bit 'kinky'!?! New corporate Novotel Menus are very un-french - no links to local quality regional produce, very limited choice with 'La Plancha' headlining (isn't that Spanish?). Steak I ate in one Novotel was the thickness of a beer mat! However two restaurants 100yds over the road (Laon de Bruxelles & Buffalo Grill) I know, not exactly Raymond Blanc but their steaks are better than Novotels. To surmise: Cheap, convenient stop over, good service, private car park, shops and restaurants nearby but quaint France it aint (we had a view of the nearby slag heap). We actually would recommend and use again (we paid £55 for a double Feb 2012).
"Stopover 3/02/2012"
13th February 2012, Marlborough, United Kingdom
I have used this Hotel before on our annual trip to the Alps and overall always very good. This time we were a little late getting there due to snow but still the receptionist was very polite and informed us that the restaurant would close in 25mins. We had booked half board and the menu was a little limited but we did manage to all make a choice. There were still people in the restaurant but even so think the waiter was a little put out by our lateness - not enough to stop us using this Hotel again though and overall would recommend.
"CHEAP OVERNIGHT STAY"
31st August 2011, Sidmouth
I chose this hotel, for its price and nearness to the chanel ports, the hotel is a normal Novotel and is clean and tidy. The one problem we had was trying to finds the hotel, because of the changes in road layouts, the sat nav couldn't really cope.it might be of interest that the hotel is only 200 metres from a hugh shopping mall, useful for stocking up on wines and inexpensive restaurants as an alternative to the hotel.
"Novotel Lens Noyelles"
14th August 2011, Waalre
The hotel was easy to find and, although near to a motorway, quiet enough. No need to open the windows as the airco kept the room cool. Lots of parking space. The rooms were only accessible via stairs , no lift available. The service was very good and the breakfast complete.
"August 2011 stop over"
5th August 2011, Glasgow
good hotel (if a bit dated re interior decor), a reasonable sized typical Novotel bedroom, a great bed with good linen, a good shower/ bathroom and a good restaurant with fast dinner service/ selection of beers and wines and a great breakfast selection, all with easy access to Autoroute towards Belgium/ Holland or central France and the channel coast.
"Lens"
3rd August 2011, High Wycombe
A very pleasant stay; the hotel was centrally situated for the areas which we were visiting. All the staff were helpful and if we need a hotel in the area again we will certainly use Novotel again. Whilst it was an added luxury we did feel that it was not necessary to change all the beds and towels every day. Not a fault but perhaps a saving on costs and environment.
"warm and friendly welcome"
7th July 2011, swindon UK
We found the hotel ok by sat nav with no problems. We were warmly greeted on arrival and booked in quickly. The room was very clean and comfortable, peaceful and we had a good nights sleep. We ate at the restaurant and once again the staff were extremely helpful, polite and cheerful. We have stayed at many Novotels before so were expecting a certain standard and we were not disappointed, nothing negative to report at all, very nice stay . Thank you.
"Always a pleasure"
4th July 2011, Aalst
The hotel is easy to find, the room was nice & clean, good bed and sofa, quiet environment at night, and close to A1; outdoor swimmingpool (but did not use it)... Very good value for money, especially with 1 or 2 kids. Service was fast and efficient (a smile would have made it perfect).
"Good location, Exactly what you expect."
19th June 2011, dunbar
It seems that most Novotels are next to an Autoroute and this is no exception, 100m from the offramp. Secure carpark added a feeling of security in the middle of an out of town retail zone. beyond that it was exactly what you expect from a Hotel at this price point in France.
"Great Stopover"
10th June 2011, havant
As always the Novotel is a welcome sight after hours of travelling. Great for what we wanted, a 1 night stopover. Clean, comfortable, well appointed room. Sofa bed & pull out trundle bed for the 2 children perfectly adequate. Free breakfast for children means you can fill up for onward journey at reasonable cost..
"excellent"
6th June 2011, exeter
very good but hard to find.sat nav took us to correct road but not location which was hidden behind trees and no visible signage.only problem was breakfast where dishwashed crockery and cutlery had dried on food.
"First night in France this visit"
29th May 2011, Thonon les Bains
After leaving England by Eurotunnel we enjoyed a leisurely drive to Lens-we went initially to Lens Noyelles but sat nav quickly got us to the hotel about 7 km away. The hotel was busy and appeared to be full with a number of different groups of mainly young people but we were quickly attended to ,we had quiet rooms on the ground floor. It being a beautiful sunny soft evening we had dinner next to the swimming pool-delightful.All in all a very good stay-very good food for dinner and breakfast.Thank you.
"Stop-Over hotel"
1st May 2011, Leeds
We used this as a stop-over hotel on our way south. It compares well with a UK Travelodge or Premier Inn. It provided a good service, the room was nice with good facilities, and the breakfast was good with a good choice. Convenient location not too far from motorway. All round it was excellent value for money.
"1 night stop over"
25th April 2011, aylesbury
Friendly and efficient staff - good standard of rooms, good value restaurant - a pleasure to stay - we've used this hotel as a stop over before and after Channel crossings on a number of occasions and hav enever been disappointed.Rooms can on ocassion be too warm.
"Reliable for that overnight stay en route through France"
4th March 2011, London
This Novotel delivers the standard high quality Novotel motel package. It does everything well for the travelling family of four-in-a-room - for which Novotel is the only chain that caters. Compared to other Novotels on the standard Brit route from Calais to the Alps, it is cheaper than most but has a couple of downsides: (i) it is 10-15 minutes off the direct A26 route from Calais to the Alps and (ii) the double sofabed is a bit narrow (other Novotels have sofabeds that come out as two singles, which is much more comfortable and avoids kids squabbling).
