Novotel Chartres: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great find, well equipped, good facilities. Slightly strange hotel menu!"

17th April 2012, Pageaway, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom

At 80 Euros booked on a non cancellation basis, this 1980s hotel was good value, full published rate is 110. The rooms, equipment, facilities and location were all very good (even down to a kettle and tea bags for we sad Engligh abroad). Staff were friendly and helpful for the most part. The hotel restaurant was all we could be bothered with and having eaten well in a Nototel restaurant before we had high hopes. The starter was fine, the main course was small, and came with boiled barley (!) rather than vegetables. Mine was beef based, my wifes was pork. Hers was about 3 lumps in a strange sauce. Mine was what she described as shin of donkey. Service was hurried and a bit brusque as we had a child with us!! Breakfast was a complete confusion of what was available in whoch room and we left without in the end. It would not put me off staying there again.

Novotel Chartres: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Disappointing Novotel"

11th April 2012, Cheltenham

I stay often around the world in Novotels with my work, Madrid, Paris, Ivory Coast etc and have always found the room comfortable and the food good value for money. This experience did not match up to my expectations. The room was of course standard and would be difficult to comment upon, however the food in the menu of the day was I believe below standard and we did complain and refushed to pay for one person. Whereas I always believe that they are value for money at 110€, without breakfast was far too high for the quality we received.

Novotel Chartres: 5.0 out of 5 stars "A well functioning hotel"

25th February 2012, Taby, Sweden

We often stay at this hotel. It is our first choice whenever we are in that part of France. We travel not as tourists, but are working when we are abroad. Meaning we have demands on us to keep appoinments and have to be on time. So it is very important to us, that our logistics work as planned. The Novotel Chartres is very reliable, which we appreciate. We also appreciate that this hotel has rooms for smokers. Again, when it is your job to travel small things like that and that the parking is right outside the door, saves time and effort. All in all, everything works well in this hotel. And it is very convenient!

Novotel Chartres: 5.0 out of 5 stars "excellent experience - would go back!"

5th January 2012, New York City, New York, USA

excellent service. This is a three star hotel but very good in that category. Decoration was good condition and was a typical Novotel. Clean and quiet. Night we arrived our room was cold. Front reception (Alice) provided us with a heater but in case room was still cold, also provided an additional room to use a s we liked/sleep in so that we wouldn't have to be inconvenienced and move our luggage into the new room.

Novotel Chartres: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Normandy"

18th September 2011, DorsetCorvette, Dorset

Modern hotel with outside pool, loungers and patio area. Smart guest areas around the hotel with sofas etc.Room was large although the shower cubicle was minute.E13.90 per person for a continental breakfast was a bit steep! Large car park with easy access from autoroute.Too far from Chartres to walk, transport required.Large supermarket within walking distance also italian restaurant and various shope around a large Retail Park.

Novotel Chartres: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Novotel Quality"

8th September 2011, London, United Kingdom

Novotel is an excellent chain, and this one is at the usual high standard. The only gripe I had about the room is that attention to the drain plug system on the bath/shower was needed. Whether you think the location is good or poor will depend on whether you prefer closeness to the autoroute (good) or to the city centre (not so good - it's several km out to the east). The restaurant is at the usual Novotel standard. In other words, the menu is restricted, but the food quality is good.

Novotel Chartres: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Novotel Chartres"

28th August 2011, rickmansworth

Stopped off at this hotel on way to south of France. Friendly and welcoming staff, good sized room for 4 people, restaurant service swift but not hurried. Hotel very clean. Would recommend it for anyone wanting an uncomplicated stopover.

Novotel Chartres: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Swimming in the Rain"

8th August 2011, Domfront, France

I chose this hotel as it had a pool for the kids. It was a very rainy day so it was just the hardy Brits using the outdoor pool! Good to find free X-Box as well as internet facilities in the lobby so the children had plenty to amuse themselves. My only problem was that I booked for one adult and two children on the dinner bed and breakfast package, pre-paid. However, when we arrived I was told only I qualified for the inclusive dinner and I would have to pay for the children, despite the voucher clearly stating that the 'beneficiaries' of the package were one adult and two children. If you are hoping to walk to the cathedral and the two centre do not choose this hotel as it is way out of town. A cab to the station (we left the car at the hotel and went by train to Paris an hour away) cost €16.

Novotel Chartres: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Satisfactory"

21st June 2011, dublin

Hotel is functional, efficient and comfortable. Service was good. The dinner and breakfast were both fairly standard and a bit pricey. It is some distance from the Cathedral but is very convenient to the autoroute.

Novotel Chartres: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Easy Access"

8th June 2011, andorra la vella

This hotel is well located on the ring road around Chartres, giving easy access to the city . Good Value pleasant stopover. Rooms comfortable although housekeeping could be more thorough - not all the lights were working.

Novotel Chartres: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Novotel Chartres"

1st June 2011, bergerac

chosen as a stop off for the night heading down to the south. Well placed, mostly clean except for a shower screen that had been placed only 1 cm from the basin so it could not be cleaned and just filled up with assorted man fluff. air con poor, felt very stuffy all night. on the up the bed was very comfy. breakfast was pretty good. we paid 102 euro for a family room perhaps overpriced?

Novotel Chartres: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Le Mans motorcycle tour"

21st May 2011, Peacehaven

Very good hotel - even let us store our motorbikes in their conference room overnight :)Rooms were clean and tidy, reception very helpful.Pleasnt bar and restuarant area

Novotel Chartres: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Tired Room"

27th April 2011

We have stayed here in previous years and we have been very happy. The room we stayed in was disappointing, in need of a refurbishment. Some wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling, the basin plug did not work, bath was chipped. Just a bit below the normal Novotel standard.

Novotel Chartres: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great Stay"

24th March 2011, Guernsey, Channel Islands

We only stayed one night on our way from St Malo to Disneyland Paris, but it was perfect for our needs. The staff both in the evening and the morning staff, and room service, we very very helpful and friendly.
