Novotel Bordeaux Aéroport: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Stay in Bordeaux"

Good for:business travellers and those who want to be close to the airport (5 mins drive on a good day in the free shuttle service). Also for those who have a car/travel by taxi. We travelled by bus from Bordeaux city centre to the hotel, getting off at Kennedy. It was a 20-30 minute walk from here (Google maps said 2 minutes!)Bad for:travellers who want a choice of eateries/bars nearby and breakfast included in the room price.We chose the hotel for our last night in Bordeaux as it was close to the airport, and we wanted a hassle free getaway. If we had known how good the connections from the city centre were to the airport, we would have stayed in the centre on our last night. This is because there is more to do in the centre and a large choice of places to eat/drink on your doorstep if you choose a central hotel. The nearest place to eat (fast food) outside of this hotel is a 5 minute drive/20 minute walk . This is worth bearing in mind when breakfast is not included in the room price (this was clear on booking). This was disappointing when considering how much we paid..

Had the need of changing dates and making my pre-paid stay shorter....being a "favourite guest" card holder, i was offerred sympathy and efficiency in this process by all staff and in particular by Madame Laurent whose kindnbess impressed me very much.

This airport hotel is what you would expect, clean and efficient, if missing a little character. Plenty of secure parking (too secure...they didn't give me the key code when I arrived, so when I came back from dinner, I needed to run into the lobby to get the code in order to park my car).Room was clean and tidy, but a bit stuffy. A/C clearly set to Winter mode, so I opened the window, which was fine except that you're pretty close to the airport....I'd stay here again, though.
