"Poor value for money"

The hotel is too old, I got the felling it's not clean, I asked for a blanket and I got an answer that there arn't any left.

Clean and tidy & staff very helpful. Didn't appreciate the cardboard cups, but can understand why! Food very good indeed.

A little dated 60's style hotel with very friendly customer service. Has a nice bar and little swimming pool. Not quite walking distance from Blois - it is a 5 min drive into town but otherwise a confortable stay.
"The Smell"

Arrived on a Sunday night with the doors wide open to the lobby and it was clear why. I stayed on the 3rd floor and the halls had a very strong urine smell. My wife would try and hold her nose till we reached outside or the room. Management would have to be brain-dead not to notice this. Maybe they don't care; we suspect there is an energy savings effort to not run the AC during the week-end? Very strong obnoxious odor. We ran the AC in the room full blast to keep out the stench.

We had booked and paid online in advance, thinking that a Novotel Hotel would be first class. The cost of this particular Novotel Hotel suggested exactly that, for we had booked a 3 week motoring tour of France, Spain and Portugal and this was one of the most expensive Hotels we had booked in the Accor Group. How bitterly disappointed we were ... so much so, that we HAD TO WALK AWAY and loose the full cost of a two-night stay. Firstly, this Novotel Hotel is not in Blois ... nowhere near ... for its on an industrial/housing estate 2.6 miles away from Blois. Secondly, the standard of room best compares to a basic UK over-night travelodge (which could be obtained at 1/3rd of the cost). Our request for an upgrade to a better room was impossible ... there are no better rooms available in this Hotel. Our request for a quiet room was totally ignored and we found ourselves presented with no other option than a mid-corridor room, contrasting totally with every other hotel throughout our 4000+ mile holiday which catered perfectly in this respect. Our request to be relocated to another Hotel within the Accor Group was deemed ridiculous. The language barrier was used as an excuse not to be helpful or open up any discussion. We left in search of an alternative Hotel and found the Mercure Blois Central most obliging to accommodate us at such short notice, negating our need to return to this most disappointing situation. The Novotel Blois is very tired and desperately in need of refurbishment .... and cannot possibly justify charging such high rates. Paper cups and wooden stirring sticks certainly do not reflect the standards that we have enjoyed in other Novotel Hotels. IF IT HADN'T BEEN FOR THE 'HOTEL MERCURE BLOIS CENTRE' COMING TO OUR RESCUE THIS MOST UNFORTUNATE EPISODE WOULD HAVE RUINED AN OTHERWISE SEAMLESS HOLIDAY. How sad to be forced into a position to write such a dreadful review.
"Expected same quality"

It was a bad surprise not having the same quality of room that we had 2 weeks ago at Novotel Biarritz . Elevator defect, no minibar at the room, not enough towels, shower broken, etc..The service was as expected, excellent on the front desk and restaurant.
