Stayed just one night as a stopover. Bedroom was tired and was well overdue for refurbishment - typically French one might say. Staff were fine and helpful, we didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. Lots of car parking and handy for a quick getaway to the motorways, although the surroundings were a business and shopping estate so rather uninspiring.
We arrived late on the Friday night and the staff on the reception desk were very friendly and efficient, and made us and our children feel very welcome, including some small teddy gifts for the children! They had even put a baby cot in our room (although we hadn't asked for it to be provided) which meant we didn't need to unpack the baby's travel cot and bedding out of the car; great! The room was very clean and well presented, and plenty big enough for our family of 4 (2 adults, 1 child and 1 baby) for the night. However in the morning and it was a different set of staff, the breakfast staff did not speak to us, and we had no idea what we were supposed to do for breakfast at all. The plates and bowls were dirty, even the 'clean' ones that had just come out of the dishwasher, but when I showed the staff member and explained in French that they were dirty, he simply put his hand up at me and said "later" and walked away! Our 7yr old son nearly drowned in the swimming pool (not a great start to the holiday!) as it was freezing cold and there were no depth markings on the pool, so when he got in at the sunny end he had a big panic and I had to jump in and save him. As I dragged him to the side I noticed some almost non-existent stickers that were so faded in the sunlight, they were almost bleached out that said the pool at that part was 2.5m deep! Not great for families and kids on holiday :(
After an eleven hour drive from Aquitaine in SW France it was sheer relief to reach the hotel at 9:00 pm! The check in was swift and we were able to get to our rooms quickly; just long enough to deposit our bags and get to the bar! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable; the room sufficiently blacked out with thick curtains, and kept cool with an adequate air con system. Breakfast in the morning was good with no problem finding space to accommodate our party of six. Finding the hotel was straightforward as I had been here before. However, for a first time visitor it can be a little disconcerting to find yourself apparently driving down a slip road as if to join the motorway .... until you see the road leading off to the hotel 'quarter'. In my view this is a great place to stay as you have easy access to the main routes, and also the actual city of Amiens is easily accessible. Highly recommended.
The hotel was clean and appeared to be short staffed . The room was not a problem .. To get a drink invaiably you had to find a member of staff. We ate dinner in the hotel both nights , and the food was plain but palatable. Breakfast was a tortuous experience , and I gave up waiting for bacon. The kitchen staff appeared to have no continuation with the food , There was a shortage of may items
We have stayed at this hotel at least once every year on our journey home from France and it never lets us down. The staff are always helpful and friendly . The hotel provides everything you need especially after a long journey. The restaurant is always reliable with food reasonably priced, well cooked and beautifully presented. Unfortunately they could not sort out the weather which prevented us from sitting outside. I do hope they replace the table tennis table as this has always been the icing on the cake. It is good to be able to play after a long journey .
