"On our way to Provence 'Easter Break'"

We wanted a stay for 1 night as we flew into Lyon for a stay in Provence. We turned up at the hotel that was surrounded by scaffolding and I commented that it didn't look like it was open, let alone fit to stay in. How pleasant was my surprise...we walked into reception it was immaculate, my husband wanted some water so he waited at reception for the water. The night porter was so apologetic that he couldn't find any small bottles. I in the mean time wandered to the room as it was late. The corridor had a wall of musical notes collaged on it at the end which created a brilliant view as I walked to the room. As we have a passion for music it seemed stunning and I waited for my husband to show him the corridor. In the mean time the night porter had carried the water on a tray to our room...it was a nice touch (we have traveled the world and all too often it's for a tip but he was just a nice guy trying to help!)The room itself was very new, very modern and very stylish, it was immaculately clean and the bed was superb. For a stay that costs much less than I pay on a regular basis for business trips I was so pleasantly surprised. Well done Mercure. I wouldn't heitate to book up again...in fact there are a few restaurants I wish to visit in Lyon perhaps it will be sooner rather than later.
