Nestled in Geographe Bay, just 229km south of Perth, Busselton is one of Western Australia’s most popular holiday spots. Twice awarded WA’s top tourism town, beautiful beaches, excellent fishing, caves, coastline scenery, unspoiled bushland and Margaret River’s world-class wineries all make up this delightful seaside town. While the region offers a range of attractions, Busselton is perhaps best known for its iconic 2km long jetty. Originally built in 1865 the historic jetty is the longest wooden pier in the southern hemisphere and features an amazing Underwater Observatory. Descend eight metres below sea level and look through the observation chamber to see more than 300 marine species enjoying their natural environment. Adding to Busselton's appeal is a new canal and marina development north of town which is a great place for a relaxed drink. Stroll along the main shopping street then cool off at the main swimming beach lined with lush lawns and magnificent pine trees. Try your hand at fishing, water skiing, scuba diving, windsurfing, sailing or have a go on the waterslides, flying fox, carousel or racing cars at the beachfront fun park. Explore Tuart Forest National Park, visit Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse and if you're visiting from September to November, a wildflower tour is also must.
