Good hotel, poor service

It was actually a good hotel with an interesting design, clean, and well located. But the quality of the service was way below the Accor standard or even the Ibis Styles standard. No one gave us a hand when we arrived at the hotel and the front office team were not nice at all. We asked for an extra pillow and was not allowed due to the hotel policy. I mean, the hotel was not fully occupied so just why though. Breakfast was terrible, plain and unvaried. I was surprised that they served cheapy sausages, well off the standard. Other than that, the room was clean and spacious, though.

The hotel looks modern but green. Check in was quick. My room was comfort and clean. There was a single chair and big sofa in the room. There was a cozy cafe at the roof top where we can spend evening.

Horrible service from start to finish. First I have arranged with the reservation team that my family member will arrive first , but I will pay when I arrive. Reservation team says OK. Lo and behold, the front desk ask for payment from my family member. Only after I spoke to them via phone then they OK it, but they still hold passport. OK nevermind. I finally arrived. I have Gold membership and there’s a customer in front of me at the check in counter for ALL member, who is clearly not even an Accor member at all. I had to wait for at least 30 minutes before I can eventually get checked in. Rooms are thankfully fantastic and we got the upgrade we were supposed to get. Breakfast was also great on Day 1 but Day 2 porridge was tasteless. Then came lunch time. It was 5 minutes before 11 and we went down to the restaurant because we needed to leave early, only to see that there’s not a single waitress in the resto. When we eventually got in touch with one of the staff, he said “oh we open at 11” which I then answered with “yeah it’s 5 minutes before”. Then he eventually said “OK, what do you want to eat” without showing us to our seats or giving us any menu. While waiting for our food, which takes a long time, we eventually asked how much more time it will take because we need to leave soon. Took them another 5 minutes to check with kitchen, and finally after about 20 minutes wait our food comes. While the pasta was great, salmon was overcooked and dry. Overall this is the worst stay at an Ibis in Indonesia - even a tiny Ibis budget in a smaller city does a better job and gives a much much better service. As an Accor Member it’s very disappointing to experience this. When I’m back in Batam I’ll stay at another hotel even if it means I have to stay out of Accor hotels.

My 1st stay here as this is also Accor 1st hotel in Batam. I booked a superior twin room and as a platinum member, my room should be guaranteed but it was a terrible check in upon arrival at noon. Reception said DLX twin not avail as I will be upgraded from Superior Room, so only queen bed. I rejected and decided to stay on Superior Room. Hotel assigned me Room # 507. Shocking that 507 was an occupied room! Guest was inside and said its her room! So I returned to lobby and reception staff all panic as record showed its an empty room. So clearly is housekeeping mistake. Hotel then assigned me 509. This time its an empty room but with this bad experience, we felt insecure so at all times we ensured we do a double lock! Hotel cafe breakfast was a good spread but sadly most of the items are not hot. Coffee/milo also too sweet as I think it's premixed.

i don't know that such a hotel near by shopping center but if you at their room it's seem so far from the croud. the hotel is really next to the street but i feel like i'm not really felt disturb by crowd of traffic. So i don't have to search any resort or any hotel that is to far from the town to find peacefull. ibis styles batam nagoya is enough for me. there is spa center gym pool, and their breakfast every morning quite good i'm not boring at all you guys have to had this experience too.
