Advertising through Qantas website a scam

My comment goes to the hotel advertisement on the Qantas website. Despite an advertised price I was unable to finalise a booking without agreeing to a price that was over $150 more than advertised. When I spoke to Qantas as I wanted to use a Qantas voucher and take advantage of bonus Qantas points I was advised that the hotel had changed their pricing but the website had yet to be updated and that I should try again. I tried again to book the accomodation at the advertised price over a four day period, Qantas also attempted to make the booking on my behalf but kept experiencing the same issue. In the end I was forced to book through the Accor site at an increased price as the phone was never answered when I tried to call the Manly Pacific direct. Perhaps this is their marketing strategy but it is illegal to advertise a product that cannot be purchased without agreeing to pay significantly more. I will report this to NSW Fair Trading as the advertisement on Qantas is a scam. I have yet to stay at the hotel as my booking is in the first week of April but I hope that our stay experience improve from that of booking accomodation.

Beautiful high end place! We got the villa and exceeded our expectations. A bath would have been amazing but that’s just being picky. Staff very friendly. Extremely clean and Tv in every room. We have a baby and the balcony is very safe for her to wander around. Room service was Devine. What a gem!

Happy hour was advertised with certain beer and wines available. However when I attempted to purchase beer I was told that the taps were broken so they weren’t available. They had the same beer in bottles and were happy to sell it to me at massively over inflated rates. Staff we unable or perhaps instructed to under fill both wine, champagne and draft beers. Overall it was an extremely disappointing afternoon and we definitely won’t be recommending this establishment and Novatel Manly won’t get another dollar from me or the other people in my party. Very disappointing

Our fourth stay at Manly Pacific and our last. Visiting from the U.K. we really appreciated the ability to get over our jet lag by relaxing at the pool, however the hotel has taken away all the parasols, complete lack of shade now makes this area unusable. Previous visits we booked a superior room, this time we booked a standard, the difference was very disappointing, light over the bed flickered, not a single drawer (most of our clothes stayed in the suitcase) stained carpet and dirty bathroom floor. There was a fire alarm at midnight on our second night, thankfully false alarm, complete lack of communication from staff, people walking in and out of hotel while fire men were still inside, no member of staff appeared to be in charge and no explanation to guests of what was happening. So disappointed.

L'accueil est celui d'un hôtel de base. Pas de voiturier, pas de bagagiste. Accueil froid et désagréable à la réception. On ne nous indique pas où se trouve le parking pour garer la voiture. On nous demande de payer le parking et on nous remet une enveloppe qui s'avère contenir une lettre mentionnant l'inclusion du petit déjeuner ET du parking. Lorsque nous le mentionnons à la réception, on nous répond qu'il s'agit d'une erreur....et qu'il faut aller voir le manager pour obtenir finalement la gratuité du parking. Nous montons nos bagages nous mêmes. La chambre est petite et donnant sur une façade à quelques mètres et très très loin des ascenseurs principaux. De nombreux plateaux de room service trainent sur le sol. Sur le roof top l'eau de la piscine est trouble, plein de platraux repas non ramassés, des serviettes usagées trainent sur l'intégralité des transats alors que les guests ne sont plus du tout là. Les aération des cuisines donnent sur la piscine, avec les odeurs de gras et de nourriture. Le buffet petit déjeuner est très quelconque : peu de choix et le personnel est trop présent à vouloir débarrasser autour de la table. Mise à part la localisation en face de la plage, cet hôtel est une très grosse déception et ne mérite pas ses 5 étoiles. Son seul atout = son emplacement.
