We stayed here for a Murder 57 event held at the hotel. Fabulous fun, great hotel and fantastic food. Would definitely recommend a visit. Made to feel very welcome by everyone. The room was clean, comfortable with lovely views over the grounds.

Very poor experience. Beautiful looking hotel but food and cleanliness leave a lot to be desired. We ate in the restaurant and I ordered a Pad Thai. I didn’t even try it. It looked like a pile of mashed potato. Certainly not a stir fry. They took it away and brought another meal which was ok. The worst bit was I found a maggot like insect in my bed. Took it down to reception and they were very apologetic and gave me a drink voucher and moved my room. But this hotel needs more staff, a good deep clean and maintenance .

We had a late booking for a Saturday night. We were given a room in the back which we changed for a room in the front. The room was more than acceptable. Electric curtains caught us out. The bar was varied and reasonable. All the staff we encountered were pleasant and willing. The evening meal was excellent. This is a big hotel in very pleasant surroundings, yes in parts it’s a little tired and could do with a deep clean but for the price I don’t think you could fault it. Two big moans, one, in our room even thought central heating valves closed whooshing noise for most of the night. Two, heater ac unit strange clicking sounds even though switched off and fuse absent. Would I return? Yes I would.

En pleno bosque, rodeado de un bello parque, este Mercure con aires de mansión de campo inglesa es un hotel muy a tener en cuenta. Cierto que está lejos, apartado de Gloucester. Cierto que necesita reformas, que está descuidado, que las habitaciones son antiguas, que no hay ascensor y si muchas escaleras. Pero el personal es amable, el entorno precioso, dispone de mucho aparcamiento exterior y vistas al bosque. El desayuno fue un poco justo, depende del dia, mejora o empeora el buffet. Las habitaciones estan límpias, pero no así las ventanas exteriores, algo vetustas, con algun vidrio roto y telarañas. En general, no ostante, la relación calidad precio fue excelente. La cena en el restaurante del hotel es muy cuidada, aunque no es barata, nos satisfizo. Lo recomendaria.

Hotel y habitaciones de amplias dimensiones, en medio de la campiña inglesa (hay que ir en coche/taxi, no se puede llegar en transporte público. Tiene aparcamiento gratis). Ideal para desconectar y relajarse. El servicio es amable y correcto.
