Our stay overall was okay. We stayed in a room near the stairs, not ideal, especially not with a young child. We could hear people coming and going of all hours, however as we’d been out all day we just wanted to get our head down so didn’t have chance to ask to be moved. We had requested a child’s cot which we got, but it was so hard and they had already put towels underneath as the mattress was so thin. A few pillows would have been better in honesty. We found a screw left on the floor from the pull out bed sofa we presumed, fortunately our young son hadn’t found it first. The bed was lovely and big, a nice mattress to our liking as well. Very much a shame we were disturbed by other hotel guests. Overall a decent stay, but somewhat dated and could do with a little spruce up. We struggled with the lighting in the room, it was either full blast lighting or nothing at all, again quite stressful with a young child trying to get to sleep. When leaving we weren’t asked how our stay was, or to have a lovely day etc. felt the receptionist could have done with a bit of training on how to meet and greet guests.

We have been visiting the Abbots Well for many years now and can honestly say it is truly worthy of a 5 star rating. The staff are all very welcoming, from reception to the bar and restaurant, the breakfasts and dinners are excellent and the rooms are kept immaculate by the housekeeping team. On arrival this year we found a "welcome back" card and gifts in our room, which was a lovely surprise. As long as we can keep making the journey, we will be back.

I came to the hotel on two different occasions and I have now ended up with two parking fines totaling £200. I always check online before I go anywhere to check the parking. It says free parking there. It might be better if there where pay and display machines in the car park like there are in most places. I have contacted the hotel by email telling the manager Richard what happened. He replied to my email in minutes. I then have emailed him back twice and had no replies and also phoned the hotel and he is never at his desk. It looks like my trip to the Hotel is going to turn out very costly. I can also see from other reviews that im not the first person this has happened to. Its very disappointing after having such a lovely time at the hotel .

"Renoviertes Zimmer" mit modrigem Geruch, fast kein Wasserdruck in der Dusche, Waschbecken lief sehr langsam ab, verschlissene Möbel, sehr übersichtliches Frühstück. Kein Willkommensgeschenk als Platin Member

Auf den Bildern macht das Hotel einen wirklich sehr schönen Eindruck. Diese entsprechen aber leider nicht der Realität. Die Zimmer sind zwar sauber, aber haben dringend mal eine Renovierung nötig. Es ist immer wieder schade, wie sehr doch im Internet Tatsachen falsch dargestellt werden. Warum enttäuscht man Gäste so? Wenn man von vornherein weiß, wie es aussieht und welcher Preis zu bezahlen ist, kann man sich drauf einstellen. Aber so? Muss das sein?
