We have stayed at various Fairmont Hotels around the world and this is the worst experience so far. We booked this hotel with our Expedia Gold status and had the option for a free upgrade. We understand this perk was based on availability but at check-in, the gentleman at the front desk did not even mention about this despite us having inquired about it three days ago. We also should have a food and beverage credit added for our stay which was also not brought up at all when we checked in. The room we stayed in had dust everywhere. The hairdryer had plastic peeling off. The ceiling lamp in the washroom had rust and mold. The towel in the bathroom was damp before we even used it. The bathtub drain cover was not clean and was peeling off. We are now worried about having health issues from these unsanitary fixtures and amanites. The fan from the bathroom was also not working properly (not even sure if it was even working at all) as the mirror was still fogged up after 30 minutes of taking a short shower. This is not the standard we expected after having great stays at other Fairmont Hotels. Definitely don’t recommend the Fairmont Miramar. Pick other hotels if you can.

Ryan from the Fairmont events/catering team was incredibly helpful pulling together a last-minute gathering - can't say enough positive things! Everyone had an awesome time and the venue, food, and on-the-ground support was top-notch

We had an incredible experience at the Fairmont Miramar for a university alumni reception in March. Ryan and the events team went above and beyond to ensure the event was a success. Amazing location, beautiful property and attentive staff - made for a memorable evening for everyone involved - would 100% recommend for a private event in Santa Monica!

Maricela and the Lobby Bar for lunch

We had an amazing early lunch with Maricela at the lobby restaurant- she gave us the best service and was so friendly to our kids- brought them blankets when they were cold and turned on the heat lamp. Excellent, thoughtful service and wonderful menu recommendations. I had the fish tacos, the kids had chicken tenders, Mac and cheese, and we all had wonderful salads.

we were fairmont enthusiasts after staying in kea lani, orchid and many many fairmonts across Canada and US. but we won't be back. 1. unclean toilets - room was not cleaned. 2. the room reserved was not ready at the time of check in (i checked in late at 8 pm. still not ready) 3. we spent our entire vacation night moving from one room to another unclean or problematic room. 4. bags were just left unattended in the front, in a very high foot traffic location. when asked the front desk assistant said "there are cameras. we don't need to be there all the time" 5. they seem to be deprioritizing priceline bookings
