An Exceptional Stay!

We are nearing the end of a 7 night stay at the wonderful Sofitel Darling Harbour. To say we have been spoilt & showered in luxury is an understatement. Over the many years of travelling to Sydney we have usually stayed at Sofitel Wentworth & the Swissotel. After our stay at SDH I can’t imagine why we would stay anywhere else but here in the future. The Hotels location is fantastic, our room was magnificent, a Luxury Corner Room Darling Harbour View. What has made our stay here so exceptional is Club Millesime & the Clubs staff. Checking in on Level 35 we were welcomed by the Clubs Manager Hooman who was so professional & delightful, we were also served a class of bubbles on arrival which is always appreciated. Hooman helped as with several requests throughout our stay which made our stay even more special & so memorable. Our welcome drink was 2 glasses of Veuve Clicquot in the Champagne Bar. The Breakfasts, LE GOÛTER in the afternoons & APÉRO CHIC in the evenings combined with the level 35 stunning views makes SDH Club Millesime by far the best we have experienced in Australia. Naomi at evening drinks was amazing, her ability to remember everyones drink order & carry so many bottles to ensure she never let a glass get empty. Melany at breakfast was wonderful. I can not finish my review of SDH without mentioning the exceptional Elmo. We were lucky to have Elmo on duty in The Club for 3 of the 7 nights we were here & the exceptional, professional & personal service Elmo has provided to us is beyond compare. Elmo’s cocktails are a must try, they are delicious. Elmo has looked after us like a long lost friend from the moment we met him & he was always on hand with his delightful & happy service - you can tell Elmo loves his job & loves SDH. He is one of those people who, as soon as he greats you, he puts a smile on your face & you feel so special. Thank you Elmo for spoiling us & looking after us so wonderfully. Can’t wait to return!

Good views, amazing bed, cold pool

My family enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The view of Darling Harbour from our room and the location of the hotel was great. The bed and linen was amazing, like sleeping on a cloud! Breakfast buffet and dining options at the hotel were also very good. The only negative was the infinity pool which was advertised as being heated was not heated at all, it was freezing cold in October. I noticed other guests of the hotel couldn't spend more that a few minutes trying to brave the cold water and just gave up. I did too.

We check the temperature of the pool daily and it is between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius, however, being an outdoor pool, the ambient temperature does effect how it feels. used to be our favourite destination for those short breaks but not any more . With 2 full accor membership you cannot get your free night in your preferred (no theirs ) time anymore .They will find any execuse to dishonour your membership in any requested upgrade , breakfast . dinning room on Sturdays or even the late check out .Not mentioning the big cemetry like renovation pit view next door . Even Contacting the on duty manager to express concerns and finding possible solutions find find no response . Let's say bye to Sofitel and Accor .Not worthy anymore

Since the hotel opened, we are very fortunate to have received a high volume of requests for our loyalty members to use their complimentary stays at the hotel. We love having the chance to host our loyalty members however we do need to manage the high volumes of requests, and encourage anyone interested to give as much notice as possible. Friday and Saturday nights for these requests are the most popular. I apologise this was not communicated effectively during your recent stay. Our team should have absolutely listened to your concerns during your stay and I am very disappointed that we have fallen short on this occasion. Easter 2024 short break

The hotel is clean and spacious and the staff are polite and welcoming. We had a room overlooking the harbour on 29th floor. The bed and pillows were very comfortable but the lights in the room are slightly irritating. You can’t put on the bedside lamp independently from the main lights. If you want to read before going to sleep you have to turn on a spotlight in the ceiling above the bed which literally blinds you and anyone else trying to sleep. In the end I turned off all the lights and used my phone to give me light to read. Breakfast is quite expensive $59 for full breakfast or $38 for continental but there is so much choice you can’t really complain.

Stayed at the Sofitel for the 1st time from 25th - 26th January. I was welcomed as a loyal Accor member and also checked in from the Club Millesime lounge. The staff were excellent and I was able to work in the lounge as well. The room i was assigned had a great view of Darling Harbour and surrounds from the upper level floor. While staying I made use of the pool which had great food and beverage service. We also had dinner at the Atelier By Sofitel restaurant and also had drinks at the Champagne bar both of which were amazing. While it was a short stay I would recommend and stay again.
