When you’re travelling it’s the small things that make the difference. We pulled up here with our caravan and it was green and welcoming. Once on our site we couldn’t connect to the power and every time we tried it ‘tripped’ the fuse. Another camper there explained that the last people on our site had experienced the same so we ran an extension cord to another power box and it was all good. We went to reception and explained what we had done and they were great. So we went on the yellow water cruise only to come back and d Find we had been unplugged and were plugged into the dodgy outlet. It was explained by a maintenance guy that it must be our van problem? We’re 2 years old? Anyway, we reconnected and had no issues. Guy was rude to my wife.

We spent one night at the Cooinda Lodge in Kakadu NP, though after staying there, I wished we had stayed two nights. We booked a family room with extra beds for the kids. The lodge was quite clean and nice as was the shower in the room. I can’t say the same about the place we stayed in Jaibru. The air conditioning worked great. The two pools were nice as well. We opted for a swim in the larger one, but the smaller one looked nice as well. It seemed that the older folks at the establishment preferred the smaller one. The room was a little pricy and so was the food at the restaurant, but the quality of both were excellent, so no complaints there. The store onsite has plenty of snacks, drinks, and other necessities if the need arises. Highly recommend staying and eating at the Cooinda Lodge.

Rooms need a good clean!

I’ve stayed in cleaner hostels! Way below expectations on the cleaning front - I appreciate it’s the quiet season but the lodge room we stayed in needed a dam good clean. Cobwebs, dead insects and filthy patio windows just demonstrated the need for a good clean! On a positive note, whilst breakfast costs - it exceeded expectations, just fantastic range, quality and standard of food on offer. The morning river cruise was fantastic in terms of commentary, scenic value and wildlife. This place has such potential, just needs a good clean and upgrade.

Perfect for the Yellow River Cruise

This is the place to stay for the nearby Yellow River Cruise. The pool has a sunshade which is good. The tented rooms are fine though a bit difficult to find (there's a one-way circular route). Food was good.

Wow. This was a nice surprise. We stayed in one of the hotel rooms. It was large, clean, modern and had great aircon. We had a refrigerator in the room. It would have been nice to have a microwave in the room. There is one in the amenities block but we didn't use it. The bistro made excellent food. This was one of the nicest places where we have stayed in a national park. Well done.
