Great location and excellent staff

Excellent location just 2mins walk from the Beaulieu Train Station and in the heart of town. Two excellent restaurants within 2 mins walk (Le Catalan & Fabrik). The start of the famous Cap Ferat walk as well as Villa Kyrios is only a 10min walk as well as the beautiful beach. Staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms a reasonable size for an Ibis. The bed was huge and comfortable and a good standard of hygiene and also a room fridge which was useful (and quiet- hard to find in most hotels). Couple of disappointing things 1) hot water seemed an issue- it seemed to just disappear and get progressively colder over the 4 nights we were there 2) the aircon wouldn’t turn cold. I would say these were just temporary issues as the hotel seemed very well maintained. Breakfast was nice ( just continental) with a nice breakfast area. Really cool they had a shoeshine machine in the lobby to. I’m a dedicated leather brogues wearer so really appreciated it.

Great location, good facilities and most of all wonderful friendly staff. We had a really relaxing stay here as a group of friends. We were on a bit of a budget and found the hotel to be perfect and really good value for money.

Part of the Accor empire, Ibis Styles does budget hotel configuration well offering value with reasonable comfort at a fair price. Well, they normally would. This time we paid 2.5X nine months in advance with no chance of cancellation. Such are the joys of supply and demand during the Rugby World Cup. At least they gave us their largest room configuration on the top floor and on the back wall. This eliminated any road noise from the front of the hotel and provides a decent side view of the distant harbor. There was even a small balcony. The hotel location is excellent, next to the quiet small train station in Beaulieu and along a pleasant shopping street. While the minimalist furniture is pretty IKEA, the large bed was quite comfortable. There is barely room to get around it. Bathroom fixtures are rather austere, but they managed to get a rainwater shower in. Lighting is nearly adequate. As one would expect, the towels are pretty thin, and the soap is of the liquid dispensing kind. The complimentary breakfast is adequate if not exceptional. The front desk was helpful if not effusive. They did arrange for storage of our extensive luggage when we showed up very early after an international flight brought us to their front door before most of the previous night's guests had checked out. Beaulieu is a charming town. This is a clean and respectable place to hang your hat.

Staff were helpful and pleasant. The rate was very reasonable. Breakfast was reasonable - although there was no eggs station and on one morning the boiled eggs ran out (but there is plenty of cheese crossaints and coffee to get your day going). The air conditioning in many French hotels only comes on in the heat of the summer months - I think possibly this is cultural difference as I think in the US and UK we are akin to a different standard. It wasn’t on during our stay but management were very helpful by moving us to two adjoining rooms from the family room which faced the street noise for an extra charge. For this I thank the hotel manager Gabriel for accommodating us. The underground car park was a bit tricky to locate and the spaces were tight, but it is to be expected in the south of France. Don’t hire a car if you don’t have the stomach for it.

When we arrived to check in, the front desk staff looked at us and carried on typing on their phone. We waited few minutes, and still they didn't even say "Hello". They took quite some time just to find our booking on their system. Eventually we got the keys to our room. The room was very small, no spaces to open suitcases. The balcony views were amazing. Only problem with the rooms are the AC is very weak and there was so much noise you could hear from the walls and ceilings of hoovering or moving furniture really early in the mornings, which was quite annoying. Breakfast was poor, very limited selection. Hardly enough seats or tables available in the small space, so often families had to stand on the side to wait for a table to be free. However we really loved the fact the train station and bus stop were literally opposite the hotel. There is a nearby supermarket and a few restaurants down the street which was perfect. Overall, I would probably find another hotel to stay at to avoid the noise and really small rooms. Most staff do not really take pride or offer a decent level of customer service. Other Ibis hotels I've stayed at have been great, but not this one unfortunately
