Bad hotel. Needs lots of improvements

The only positive I found about this hotel is the location. The rooms are very small. It needs more attention, cleanliness and maintenance. A leaking that was fixed hours later after I reported the issue. They charge taxes VAT 19% more to everybody that has a Colombian passport even if you prove you have an exception and are in the country visiting few days. They take advantage of tourists and overcharge you. Others hotels apply the Law and are more honest regarding creating property fees.

Reception doesn't speak English

3* Reception:  -We stayed here 4 nights after arriving In Colombia. First the checkin was lengthy asking for details, like email and mobile number, they should already have this as it is in my Accor profile. Then they asked me to pay upfront the whole bill of nearly 1M COP. This was not inline with the confirmation I had. According that I should only pay the remainder of 150k, as I paid the rest with Accor points. Second, it was Friday evening and there was very loud music in the lobby which made it very hard to understand each other, let alone their level of English is close to non existent. In the end we agreed to leave the issue to checkout. Next morning I tried to solve the issue but ran again into language problems.  + At checkout it turned out that I had a credit instead of debet. So, asked them to pay me. This was not possible, only as a credit in the restaurant... Which we did. -On Sunday we asked the receptionist via Google Translate if we could rent bicycles. She replied that she didn't know and had to search in the Internet for it, but she couldn't find it. This while it is ciclovia, every Sunday the main roads are open to cyclists. -The roomkeys at the end of every day failed to work, so we had to ask reception every time to re-enable them. Room: Basic, but very clean, no amenities, rather good bed, great shower, with safe, loud music on Friday and Saturday nights until 3 am. Breakfast: the highlight of this stay. Before we head back home we have to stay another night in Bogotá, but it will not be in this hotel.

Usual Ibis. Clean, friendly staff. Nice atmosphere but I didn't like the location.

I purely chose this hotel for one night at the end of a trip around Colombia. I have visited and seen Bogota before so all I wanted was something cheap, clean and safe. This was fine. Usual Ibis decor and room including hot water, wifi, air conditioning and heater, hair dryer and more. Wifi was very fast. Hotel was clean. Staff were friendly, pleasant and helpful. A few spoke English. I am an Expedia Gold client so this hotel gave me a few perks which was also why I booked it. This included a free drink and my checking out time was extended till 18:00 which I really wanted as I had a late night flight. A room upgrade was not available but I was not fussed as it was one night only. I didn't include breakfast. Hotel had a nice vibe and atmosphere. Very hip and busy. Secure and you can only access the floor of your room with the key card. I had dinner at Q!Ceviche restaurant located in the hotel which was very nice. My difference between a 4 and 5. Had I been in Bogota longer, I would have picked a hotel in a better location. Yes the Museo Nacional de Colombia is located opposite, a convenience store across the road and some eateries but you needed to take transport to most of the other tourist attractions. Also, safety as there were many stray characters and beggars around. I would not walk around the area especially at night and just watch when you come out of the hotel too.

My stay at the hotel was decent due to the reasonable price, but there were a couple of issues. The check-in process took longer than expected, around 25 minutes, which was a bit frustrating. Additionally, the bathroom had a strong cigarette smell, which was unpleasant. Despite these drawbacks, the affordability made it an okay choice for a short stay.

We used Ibis Museo for a long layover. The location being close to the National Museum was unparalleled, which was great because it gave us the opportunity to visit the museum easily before checking out for our afternoon flight. The breakfast buffet was fantastic as well and the views from the upper floors were breathtaking. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful.
