Terrible manager who treated guest with medical need without dignity. I nearly needed to involve the police

I booked this hotel because I need to use the refrigerator in the kitchen in the room. I thought I can trust this hotel chain. But when I am in room, there was no freezer. I have been to many. hotels - even at budget hotels, staffs will come up with a solution to help. But the manager and staff at this hotel plainly refused to help. When I ask to talk to the manager, this staff say he is the manager. I ask if he can help, he say no. I am the one to propose and pleading if the hotel can help me freeze my ice pack, , he say no. I am left with no choice and desperate. I asked to returned my money as I paid with debit card not credit card. But this staff cannot return my money on the spot I just paid a short while ago. I am really left with no choice, desperate, so I ask this manager to call the police for me. He made some enquiry, then came back and told me he can help me store the ice pack. This staff have no empathy towards a guest in genuine medical assistance. Take no initiative to solve problem. I plead to get help but heartless refused assistance, it is when I ask him to call the police that he make enquiry to consider the solution I proposed. I will not go back to this hotel in Brussels.

Just like most travelers, I choose this hotel based on reviews and searching online. Thankfully I made a great choice. My sister and I truly enjoyed our stay here for 5 days. It became our base hotel while we explored Bruges and Ghent on day trips. Here's why and a few tips for anyone looking for a place/ hotel in Brussels : Location : 10/10. The best location anyone could ask for. The De Brouckère metro station is located just beside the hotel. Supermarkets, restaurants and shops are nearby / walking distance. It is close to the main attractions (walking distance - 10 mins). The main train station (Brussels Central) is also 10mins walking / or you can take the metro (1 stop away). Front office / Lobby : 10/10 Super friendly and helpful. Fast check in and check out. The ambience is warm and it is a pet friendly hotel. They have a waiting area with few selection of books, magazines and games. They also provide drinking water and display of items to be purchased. F&B : 10/10 Level 2 is designated as the breakfast area. The layout is spacious but cozy. Food selections vary with English breakfast and some Belgian favorites like waffles. Fresh juices, coffee, tea and drinking water is also available. Children chairs, game area, a small library and a soccer table is also available for users. Room: 10/10 We got our room at level 7 (room 728). It was nearby the lift and spacious enough for the two of us. We loved the aparthotel concept where we had access to kitchenet in the room. It is also suitable for families with children. Perhaps request for bigger rooms. We had ample space for our luggage and to keep our clothes or food items. The bathroom was also spacious. I would also say this place is disable friendly. Kudos to that. You can cross the road and get food items from Carrefour Express or several other outlets. If you are planning to cook, they provide all the utensils and cookware in this hotel. Even dishwasher is available. The hotel does not provide daily cleaning service which we were okay with. No change of towels too. We didn't mind either. They provide the usual shampoo, bath gel and hand wash. We brought our own. TV channels are there but limited for English channels. It did not bother us much cos we had our smartphones and most of the time we were outside or sleeping. We extremely loved this hotel and recommend to anyone - family, couple, siblings, friends Thank you AA for making our trip to Brussels worthwhile and a great memory to remember We are grateful and wish you all the best always ! Great location and good appart hotel

The rooms are comfortable and well equipped although the hotel is not very well maintained, the lights above the bed were not working, the floor tiles have some space between them and there are some stains on walls, but overall it is clean. I like the fact that the bed can be closed to gain space and a little sofa. The two gyms (3rd and 7th floor) are tiny, don't expect a full gym. The breakfast is quite good, with fresh products. The location is very central, short walking distance to the Grand Place.

The hotel suites were smaller than anticipated. The bath tub is also a shower and the height of this is exceptionally set to high and is dangerous getting in and out the shower area. The main bathroom sink had a drainage issue and this slowed the drainage of water. The towel rule is a weird one .I.e only one extra set allowed and we stayed for several nights and needed to showered more than once a day. Lastly the bed has some sharp edging and furniture surrounding it as a part of the decor. This could end up scratching you legs and body parts if you not careful getting in and out the bed. The location was conveniently situated near the satay on and main streets.
