3D2N Check-in at lobby: smooth and efficient. required deposit though. Room: 1 floor below club lounge, good contrasting view of old city all the way to the Canton Tower. Quiet room. Air-con appropriate temperature. Club Lounge: very well managed. good view. tea time; good food quality. breakfast: quiet, good food quality and sufficient variety, even better compare to the buffet breakfast at 2/F according to wife. Worth mentioned: Meena, manager of Club Lounge, Great service. Assisted us with reservations for lunch at the Canton Tower. Service provided at Club Lounge well exceed the price paid. Room service: Great. Television channels was not working and they came within 5 minutes after calling and fixed it. Also, forgot to bring USB charger for phone and they loan us one and even Type C was available. Great considering both request made after 10pm. Swimming pool: mandatory use of cap, which we remember bringing one. Indoor pool of appropriate size and depth of pool. Water temperature was well adjusted. Location: the only item not so good. it is not conveniently located above metro station. yet, if it is so, hotel may be very crowded and very very noisy. Check-out at lobby: longer than expected. mixed up that we had room service for clothes (which we didn't). Well deserved 5-star stay.

Avoid! Rooms are dated, staff helpfulness-uneven at best. The worst is the breakfast; the quality of food is low, selection is limited and preparation awful for Guangzhou, China which is food- obsessed. Dried out pastries out of plastic containers, empty trays not refilled, dim sum consists of white buns (no fillings) and peanuts-the cheapest food offered!

Our stay at Sofitel Guangzhou was absolutely terrific! The room was superb with a great view. The club lounge is very well managed. There was a different range of menu choices every evening, and all very tasty. The pool was ideal for morning laps. Hotel staff are welcoming and multilingual. Several shopping centres are about 15-20 minute walking distance. The breakfast buffet is again full of good choices. Eggs are freshly cooked; even the pancakes can be enjoyed fresh off the grill. A special shout-out to Ms Li Mingka whose helpfulness we greatly appreciated.

First time visiting Guangzhou and stay at Sofitel for 4 nights. Our room is the Premium luxury (thanks to my brother) and I simply love it. It’s very spacious and we enjoyed our stay. Our bathroom area is very spacious too with bathtub. Bath and toilet is individually sectioned. King size bed is comfy. There is small cozy corner for you to boil water and have some tea. I enjoyed the daily breakfast as well with many varieties. There is a 7-eleven nearby. The hotel staff service is good. 👍🏻

Avoid at any cost!!!

Awful! Avoid this place ! No early check in, no water provision, no concierge service ... the reception only cares to take your deposit for mini bar 😂 I be been to lost of resorts and 5 star hotels, but this is a disaster . The only normal point is the service guy , other hotel employees are simply disregarding you
