The warm helpful reception staff made our stay pleasurable. The hotel is basic, clean and reasonably well situated - taxis booked through reception came in good time and cost 14 euros to most attractions. Breakfast at 25 euros per person was too costly. We had a substantial, delicious breakfast in a cafe at the end of the street round the corner for less than 20 euros for two of us. We chose the hotel because evening meals were advertised there was actually no food other than breakfast. That said there is a lovely Lebanese restaurant just round the corner. We realised on the last day that the codes on the wall provided information about places to eat/draw money but with no skills in such things we had to wander about to find things we needed.

If your preference is for vintage accommodations with compact quarters, then this is the 4-star destination for you. As a first-time visitor and diamond Accor member, I chose to stay at the Mercure HH Mitte since other Accor Hotels were fully booked. My anticipation was set for a typical 4-star experience with the standard upgrades. However, this hotel fell short of those expectations. The rooms had an outdated feel, akin to being in a train station, with small windows but none of the charm you'd associate with a boutique hotel. With a rate exceeding 200 Euros per night, it seemed overpriced. And don't even consider inquiring about a gym - the staff's response is merely a chuckle. My advice would be to steer clear of this hotel, but if it's unavoidable, opt for a room on a higher floor.

I spent a short weekend break at this property, where I had reserved also a room for a relative who was travelling with me in this occasion. Everything at the hotel exceeded my expectations: My room (538) was ample, well appointed (I especially appreciated the high-quality bedding and the availability of a bathrobe) and spotlessly clean. My "Platinum" status as Accor group frequent customer was acknowledged with a kind note by the hotel manager and a small gift in the room. But what made my stay perfect was the very positive attitude of the staff. I should especially commend front desk agent Neehal (hope I got the spelling right...). Due to the closure of the Hamburg airport, my return flight was cancelled, and she really went out of her way to help me find alternative arrangements to come back home safely and without delays. Her uncommon dedication and her genuine attention to the wellbeing of the guests really touched me and will stay in my memory for a long time. . But also the other hotel staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful (some useful advice was provided by Mariia). So full marks to this excellent hotel and its wonderful staff! Shall come back.

Stayed one night at this hotel. The single room size was small for me. Location is not the best one as it is far from the city centre. I did not prefer breakfast so I can not comment on it. Maybe if you visit Hamburg for exhibition, the hotel is located very close to Hamburg Messe.

Stayed in business trip for exhibition with large group. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Rooms very small and basic. NO air conditioning working in most of our rooms (12) during a very hot early June - if you open window in evening very noisy from main road and rail track immediately outside.
