Just Ok

On arrival we were given our room which was a disabled access room. It had a wet room bathroom, adaptions ect. We are abled bodied so did not need this. The drainage was so poor it flooded the whole bathroom, I slipped, towels were soaking. Not good at all, there was also no mirror in the room just the bathroom so I’m stood in a pool of water drying my hair with an electrical appliance! We asked for a move and the hotel obliged. The second room was so much better, I cant believe they shoved us in the first one in comparison. It was more modernised and the only criticism I have of this room was the heat, the air con did not work and the room was too hot to sleep. Its March god help the visitors in mid summer unless they sort it out. Its an obis so do not expect luxury but facilities are adequate for what you need on a city break. Staff were friendly enough and location was good. It’s called Wenceslas square but in reality it is a good 10 minute walk away from the actual square slightly uphill for those with mobility issues. It was fine for us though. Prague itself is beautiful and we had an enjoyable trip. It’s just a shame our first of 3 nights was in an inadequate room.

Just back from a 3 night stay. We’ve stopped at Ibis hotels in different European cities so knew it wouldn’t be the Ritz and we only needed it to sleep in as we were out all day and for that it is fine. The room was basic but ok for what we needed and the shower was fine too. But the room was red hot!! Air con did nothing at all to cool it down. The breakfast was just ok. Location wise it’s a good 5-10 min walk from Wenceslas Square and around 20-30 mins from the Old Town.

Despite paying to upgrade our room. I can only compare the standard to cheap £25 Travelodge type hotels. The rooms are in very poor condition and in need of a major upgrade. The location is not Wenceslas square as the name suggests either. Breakfast was very basic with little choice. There was no safe, the air con even on its lowest setting was really hot and we had to sleep with the windows open. When we tried to check in we were kept waiting ages by a large group checking in and then made to wait again by the staff checking people out who were behind us in the queue. Every morning there was a constant banging from 7am. Unfortunately I have no positives to counter any of the negatives.

Comfy bed and hearty breakfast. Special thanks to Martin and Anna for their customer service. Overall a great stay however it was let down by the hostile attitude of one member of staff. Due to some miscommunication regarding transport, this member of staff adopted a very cold and patronising attitude which was totally unnecessary and unprofessional. The younger members of staff however had much mature behaviour and very competent social skills.

Hotel The hotel was as all standard chains like this anywhere you go. The lobby was fairly modern. The rooms had lots of brown furniture which made it seem less modern but possibly the style of the country as other hotels seemed to be similar. It was clean. Staff were on the reception all the time. For what we paid, we were happy overall. One thing I would say, it would have been good to have paid the city tax at the start as we only knew about this when we came to check out. Location The location is about 10 mins away from Wenceslas Square. Some of the walk back to the hotel were up hill so worth bearing in mind if this is a factor for you. It was about 35 mins from the old town which is where all the night life is. Nothing really happening in Wenceslas. There were some pubs and restaurants near the hotel which were all dead but maybe this was the time of year? There were a couple of strip clubs nearby if that's your thing! Didn't go in these but you have to walk past them on the way back to the hotel. Room and Breakfast The bed was comfy. The room was a really nice temperature despite being a few degrees below freezing outside. We didn't touch the a/c while we were there. The room wasn't a bad size. The bathroom was small but functional. The room (the bathroom in particular) reminded me a bit of a cabin on a boat. The breakfast was OK. There were things I liked but my partner struggled a bit. As others have said, there's only one toaster which can be a slow affair. I imagine this would have been a pain if it was busier. Summary Would we stay here again? No. But only because of the location. The hotel was fine and we enjoyed our stay, just not the hike home from the old town.
