January trip to Annecy

This hotel is perfectly located on the edge of the old town. Our room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was excellent , with a great choice of local produce. Although we had a small issue during our stay, the matter was dealt with swiftly and professionally. All the staff were a credit to the hotel, but a special mention goes to a lovely lady called Florence, who was exceptional and very attentive. I would recommend this hotel and would like to return

Staying at this hotel has three distinct advantages: 1. It is clean and comfortable. The beds are great. The sheets and duvet are super clean. The shower is brilliant. The aircon is brilliant. The rooms are cleaned and the beds are made up expertly everyday. The Wi-Fi works! There is a safe in the room to store your valuables such as passports. It’s quiet. 2. Laura at the Mai reception desk (she may be the manager) is exceptionally friendly and helpful with a young team around her who are also friendly and cheerful. She will give you excellent advice about where to eat and excursions around Annecy. You can’t miss Laura because she has piercing blue eyes (from the normal brown eyed French), being a Breton. 3. Above all, its location cannot be beaten for its convenience. 5 mins from the main bus and railway station. 1 minute from the main shopping street. 5 mins to the old historic centre. There are good restaurants just seconds away from the hotel - a restaurant, a Brasserie, a Thai, a Vietnamese, a sushi place, an Italian and a family sports bar with a good pub menu. There is simply nowhere better to stay and I would stay here again. The hotel prices are all very similar to other 4 star hotels in Annecy, but a word of warning about the prices shown on Booking.com. No matter how early you book, you are not getting a deal. It is better to negotiate directly with the hotel for a discount. The hotel wins because they don’t have to pay Booking.com a 15% surcharge . You win because you may get the room cheaper. We booked on Booking.com 8 months before we went, only to find out in situ that we were just paying the full hotel rate, which in late July/Aug is 175 Euros per night. Also, don’t pay for breakfast at 17.90 Euros each per day. It’s better to have breakfast out. Cheaper with more variety. What the hotel could do better: Stock the minibar more fully everyday and have better tea making facilities such as tea and real milk rather than powdered milk.

Mercure Annecy Centre is in the heart of the city, very close to the train station. This boutique hotel has a stylish, comfortable feel. The rooms are very efficient and well organized. Plenty of natural and artificial light. The rooms are comfortable and not lacking anything you expect from a 4 star hotel. The strength of the hotel is its front desk staff. Very friendly, professional and accommodating. Among this high bar group of hospitality professionals is Laura. Laura stands out due to her personality and ability to anticipate needs and completely provide the highest level of support and care. Being at the Mercure is like staying with family, they cared about maximizing my enjoyment and comfort of my stay

I enjoyed my stay here.Right in the heart of everything. The room was small but nice and it had a balcony, desk, refrigerator, wifi, AC, and a safe. The hotel was within walking distance to everything and only 400M to Lake Annecy. The staff were friendly and im! would definately stay here agsin!

Fairly predictable , well located, mid-range chain hotel. A short walk from the bus station which itself, is adjacent to the train station. No more than 5 minutes leisurely walk. On the edge of the old town which you can reach within 5 minutes. Checking-in was quick but I had used the ACCOR online advance check-in facility. Two young women on reception helpful and allowed check-in 15m before 15h.. A small but modern lift me took me the second floor and the double bed classic room, interior, so quite dark but quiet. Unfortunately the room had an odor of carpets that have previously flooded. Although it may I also have been the air conditioning system. In the blistering heat of one of Europe's hottest summers the air conditioning was competent and kept me comfortable during the night. There was a mini bar which we didn't use and a good selection of teas and a small selection of instant coffees. One thing conspicuously missing was any soap next to the wash basin and I had to ask for some. A very small bar was provided but was sufficient for the purposes. If you can get a good rate which usually involves booking the property directly with the chain, it's probably safer than many of the other properties in Annecy. Well that is my subjective opinion and you might have a better experience. So in summary, a competent somewhat boring but reliable chain hotel
