The staff at Hunter Square are absolutely fantastic, when booking I’d forgotten to ask for an accessible room, this was no problem for the gentleman on duty, he managed to find me one on Easter weekend, all of the other staff members i interacted with were so helpful. The only downside was the breakfast, not the staffs fault they can only work with what they’re given, c’mon Ibis I know you’re considered a budget chain but even Travelodge have a better breakfast offering

Our party of 2 couples stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of April. We arrived shortly before midday by rail. The hotel is a short walk from the station & upon arrival we stored our luggage in a holding room, returning later to check in. Our room was located on the 1st floor & classed as a city view. Not worth paying the extra for the view, although I didn’t see the view from a basic room & paying the supplement we did get a larger room. There’s a small bar in the lobby area & we had drinks before going out to dinner & again upon our return a couple of nights. The breakfast buffet was plentiful & tasty which set us up for the days exploring the city. The hotel is ideally situated, just a street away from the Royal Mile & close to bars, restaurants etc. The staff were friendly, attentive & efficient. We’ve all said how happy we were with the Ibis & would certainly stay there again.

This hotel is in the heart of the city but tucked away in a quiet corner, enabling a good night’s sleep! The facilities are fine for a short business trip or city break and the staff went above and beyond to rectify an error in my original booking. The only downside was the quality of the breakfast which was basic with items slow to be replaced when they ran out. Despite that it still provided a good start to the day at a reasonable price. I would definitely stay here again if I were visiting Edinburgh!

The customer service at this hotel is by far the best we have ever experience! And we are experienced travelers from Orlando, Florida! Ricky, Liam and the new Spanish lady went above and beyond consistently. The breakfast choices and diverse, with fresh offers. The channel selections for room entertainment are lacking, and the coffee machine does not match the hotel excellence, however this is a phenomenal hotel, centrally located and near the bus station, beside the Edinburgh Castle!

Location location and location! Less than half of block from Royal Mile. Staff super attentive! Room clean, bed comfy, breakfast good enough. Hotel has full bar as well. I had a pleasant stay, but the most important is the convinience of the location.
