We stayed four wonderful nights in the Old Cataract Hotel in a king room with a balcony overlooking the Nile. The room was spacious and the bed one of the most comfortable we’ve slept in. The hotel itself has been preserved beautifully and the splendour of the past exists magnificently alongside modern amenities, Breakfast in the 1902 Dining Room each morning was a wonderful experience. All the staff from the people who cleaned our room through to the dining staff were so respectful, polite and professional. We also enjoyed the tour of the hotel including a visit to the suite Agatha Christie stayed in while she wrote ‘Death on the Nile’. Our guide, the marvellous Marvel, was delightful and vivacious. Overall we had a very special time here in Aswan.

Wow, wow, wow. What an amazing hotel. Beautifully decorated, amazing views, food and staff. The pool was great and only a ferry ride away from Elephantine Island. Loved the bar and the Agatha Christie cocktail. Food was very tasty with lots of choice.

One of the things we wanted to do in Egypt, after seeing the pyramids, was to stay at the Old Cataract, probably the most famous hotel in the region. The hotel is absolutely lovely, with the most stunning views of a bend in the Nile. You could spend the whole day in the Terrace watching life in the river. The rooms are large and remind you of the great hotels of yesteryears, though everything is super plush. We also had dinner in the legendary 1902 restaurant which has superb cuisine. But our favourite was definitely the Terrace. A must stay on a visit to Egypt.

The hotel itself is undoubtedly stunning and is beautifully kept . The best hotel bed I have ever slept in ….like sleeping on a cloud. We stayed for two nights in Catarat Suite with a Nile view as it was our birthdays. The terrace restaurant was very poor . The service was awful for a five star hotel . You expect to be shown to a table as soon as you walk in ,not have to wait until the waiter (who has seen you ) decides to come and speak !!!! The food was very bland and unappetising and I was very poorly on our first night . They need to upgrade their game …you can’t just rely on 1 or 2 nighters coming to see the place OR perhaps that’s what they want !!!!! Very disappointed ☹️

Amazing Service & amazing hotel, historical palace with beautiful view on the Nile, you could just hold your breath and relax over 🌞 sunset, one of the best hotels in Egypt if you will visit aswanyou have to visit softil legend old cataract in aswan and just enjoy
