Perfectly located hotel for exploring Amsterdam

I had a great stay in this hotel recently in one of their smaller, budget, "cozy" rooms. This Ibis is perfectly located 5 mins walk from the Centraal station/Eurostar. You can easily access the tram network to get around Amsterdam, find hire bikes, take a boat trip around the canals, or take the FREE boat shuttle to the Northern areas of Amsterdam (3 were running back and forth every few minutes when we were there - the trip itself only takes about 5 minutes). If you want to venture further afield, we took the metro (underground style train network) to a concert at the AFAS concert hall 30 mins South which was very simple. We also caught an 800 bus from the Centraal bus depot (upstairs) to the historic Windmills area of Zaanse Schans - cheaper than a coach tour! The Hotel itself was well appointed with a bar area - unfortunately we didn't have time to stop for food or drink here. The best thing was a small "shop" in the foyer selling essentials and simple drinks & food which can be bought for snacks 24/7. The lobby was manned by friendly reception staff at all times enabling you to come and go as you pleased. We stayed on floor 5 and there was never a sound from the trains. The room itself is definitely cozy! If you require space or luxury this probably isn't the room for you - though I believe larger ones are available. As a room for two people we found it perfect for our needs - the enclosed shower & toilet room could maybe do with a bit more space but we thought it was basically fine. Comes with a well lit mirror handwash, Shower gel & shampoo and a hair dryer. We had a nice view facing the canals and historic buildings of Amsterdam. Ironing facilities are available at the end of each floor. Rooms were kept clean by friendly cleaning staff. Unfortunately the area is currently being renovated and this means there are a lot of roadworks outside - this didn't cause us any nuisance though. Do not get this hotel mixed up with the other Ibis styles nearby - I think this one is the better of the two. My only real negatives: The TV could maybe have done with a few more channels - the choice was quite basic with no apparent radio channels. The rooms do not come with a kettle - we took our own travel kettle etc but apparently they are available at reception. I didn't get a response to an email I sent - but I 'm sure if I'd followed up with a phone call I could've got through to someone. All in all I'd recommend this hotel if you want a well located base for a few days in this great city!

We loved the location of this hotel. We took the train from the airport and 20 minutes later were at Amsterdam Central Station. It took about 5 minutes to walk to the hotel. So many places are within walking distance and the trams stop right in front if you'd rather ride. Beds are comfy and the climate of the room was perfect. The triple room was a bit small for all 3 of us, but it worked out great. You can store things under the beds. That was a plus and the bathroom was surprisingly modern and larger than most. Everything in the room and lobby were very clean. Breakfast was good with a nice variety. Customer service was above and beyond! Everyone was kind, knowledgable and very receptive to our needs. Nafisah and Glennisa were amazing during our stay. I would definitely stay here again!

The location of this hotel could not be better. It’s right in the middle of everything and 5 minutes from the train station. It’s clean and feels very safe. The best thing about it though is the staff. They are welcoming and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. They made our visit to Amsterdam even better.

Very central and trams are easy accessible, I can't walk very far so this was handy..it saved on taxi fares. Breakfast was amazing, room was very tiny, bathroom was unbelievably tiny, it was difficult to get dried off after a shower. The room was too hot and you can't control the thermostat, we had to have the window open at night but because the trains run under the hotel all night its difficult to get decent sleep. We had a twin room and the mattress topper on one of the beds had been urinated on, it got changed but the second one had dried blood on, I took it off and slept without it. Amsterdam itself is a great place to visit.

Excellent location & nice Receptionists

We had a day use here on Monday 18th March 2024 at 10.00-18.00 room # 732, top floor away from lifts/noisy areas as we requested in advance Check in & out were fast. Receptionists were efficient and welcoming. Our room was a little bit dark and dated but not a big deal as we needed a good rest in a quiet room. Everything in our room worked well. Free safety box, aircon, flat tv screen but no mini bar. OK for a short stay. (We paid 80 Euro for a day use). The hotel is in an excellent location. Only a few minute walk from/to Amsterdam Central Station. 10 min walk to Chinatown and Red Light District. Plenty of restaurants/cafes/bars/stores within walking distance.
